Is it fair?

Recommended Posts

Cardiff played QPR on Saturday afternoon so only had 48 hours to recover to play Preston who they started off playing brilliantly against but clearly tired towards the end and probably would have drawn the game if not for some heroic defending by all and especially Mark Hudson. Nevertheless a cracking 1-0 victory to relegate Preston.

Derby also played on Saturday afternoon and only had 46 hours recovery time to play championship high flyers Norwich City and they fought very well against all the odds to try and secure themselves championship football next season while also doing Cardiff City a favour at the same time. But almost inevitably they were worn out by the crucial final quarter and were denied a point but as results went tier way they will be playing in the championship next season.

Norwich played on Thursday night so had 87 hours recovery time, almost double what city and Derby had, and they then go on to benefit from higher energy and fitness levels after a longer period of recovery to beat Derby into the ground in the final quarter and win 3-2 with a 95th minute winner.

Is this fair? Is that a level playing field at this crucial stage of the season?

We played Swansea away, Watford away and Nottingham Forest at home in the space of 6 days. Is that fair?

Blah blah blah. Why are you asking now? It''s been on the calender for MONTHS since SUFFOLK POLICE moved it. I very much doubt our fiercest rivals were trying to do us a favour, do you? Stop crying just because you''ve bottled it. Again.

Is it fair that a Welsh team can play in the ENGLISH Premiership? Is it fair that QPR can break the rules and the FA do nothing until the last minute which will be appealed?

Theres 46 games to play and you finish where you deserve to. Could be 2nd, could be 3rd but you are where you are.

That''s football for ya!!

I like the way that you''re already making your excuses. Must have a pocket full of them over the past few seasons?

Lambert has far more class than your lot and just uses the "that''s life" explanation!

Another one spitting his dummy out. Is it fair?? Who promised you fairness?

Suffolk Police dictated when we played, not us, our team turned up when told to, all there is to it.

You know I''d half believe some of this pathetic whining was justified if just once I''d heard anyone particularly from Cardiff complaining how Reading had an advantage today too. But they haven''t.

No it''s not fair..I''m willing to speculate that we probably wouldn''t have won without that extra rest. But the fixture change was down to Ipswich and Suffolk Constabulary so we can only thank our dear neighbours for their help. [Y]

Is it fair that a club can go close to administration and still buy there selfs into the top 3 of the league. Is it fair your manager is putting the blame on us for your shamboles.

Quite. This is a lame excuse being made by a manager and club who should know better.

By the very fact we played earlier on Thursday, it means we had less of a break from our game prior to Thursday. We are talking professional athletes here.

Are we moaning about the fact our next game is on the Monday and we have two days less rest before the final games on the Saturday?

Oh, look at that, Cardiff kick-off before us next Monday as well.

Something else Jones and McPhail can whinge about.
i was just looking for some discussion and debate on the topic, not start an argument
Ok, then given our replies, do you think it was fair taking them into account?

Could look at it both ways there. It might be an advantage to Norwich as they know the exact result they''ll need from the game or be an advantage to cardiff to put pressure on norwich

I can imagine the welcome that a Norwich supporter would get if we went on their form after reading this:
