Smudger 0 Posted April 12, 2011 I can see ourselves, Cardiff and Reading all possibly finishing on 82 points now with us losing out on goal difference and Reading clinching promotion with their late challenge.Hope that I am wrong and that we can nick it with 83 points or more. Can''t wait for Friday, let''s raise the roof!!! . 0 Posted April 12, 2011 Swansea or probably Cardiff taking second spot and a rampant Reading taking the play-offs.I hasten to add... not a wish but a realistic expectation.
ricardo 8,098 Posted April 12, 2011 The final table will see City 2nd on 83 pointsCardiff will get 80 points and Reading and Swansea 79 points.Thats how my predictor came out when I did it on March 5thAt the moment City and Cardiff are exactely on target while Swansea are 4 points downReading are the big worry because they are 5 points ahead of my prediction. ThorpeCanary 71 Posted April 12, 2011 well if "rampant" reading do keep it up for another 8 games they''ll have earned it!but theres a way to go yet, plenty of times for tables to turn back and fourth a few times and for Reading (or anyone else for that matter) to fall away before we even get into the playoffs. Shack Attack 0 Posted April 12, 2011 I honestly don''t know anymore Smudge. Cardiff look like they have a fairly easy run in with only a home game with QPR that looks really difficult. Reading are on a real charge but their next two games (Leicester at home and Leeds away) are potentially tricky. And then there''s us. We''ve had a difficult few days but we''re only a point off second with five to play. In the past when this team has faced big challenges they have always come out on top. Why should this time be any different? And you''re spot on about Friday. Carrow Road needs to be a cauldron of noise from kick off to the final whistle. Therefore I can see Cardiff now picking up 3 points in that one. Cardiff have a difficult last game of the season - away at Burnley though (Ithink it was).I am still hopeful that we can nick auto promotion, but we are certainly now in for a very exciting and nervous few weeks. YellowOne1 0 Posted April 12, 2011 Burnley are getting spanked quite a lot recently , Millwall and Ipswich won comfortably at Turf Moor so you would expect Cardiff to if auto promotion was riding on it.

QPR deserve to be promoted and docking points will be a waste of time now that they have left it so long. I expect a hefty fine to be handed out to them. Smudger 0 Posted April 12, 2011 ...or the fairest thing, would possibly be a hefty fine and a points deduction for next season for them!

However, even if you are right, QPR can''t be sure of a result so will have to go all out in the remaining matches.
Boris 62 Posted April 12, 2011 Cardiff with scedule that they have hardly will loose many pts and we all know if Holt and Hoolahan stay out hardly will win more than few!If we miss this 2nd spot I hope at least to not be in very last moment because this teams never perform well in play off games.Hope players and form back soon coz will be pity this amaizing season to end with nothing......Its very difficult but we must win or at least try to win in Friday

I would actually really fancy us in the play-offs - Though I recall losing the final v Birmingham a worse feeling than relegation, to win it must just be something else!. And Cluck''s right - It''s all about nerve now. The other teams around us will cock up, and that includes Cardiff and their ''easy'' run in. We came back well tonight and scored because we HAD to score - Couldn''t quite nick the winner but the point is that it was a very good omen for us in the ''nerves'' department nevertheless - We didn''t bottle it, we battled it. Branston Pickle 4,168 Posted April 13, 2011 It does seem that it will (hopefully) still go down to the wire, and that we are well in the mix is far better than most hoped for or expected for us at the start of the season. Re: how it will end up, I''ve no idea. IMO there is no such thing as an easy run in - the supposed "easier" games are all potential banana skins, sides who want to prove something (look at us losing to Orient and Carlisle last season). Of course you''d probably fancy Cardiff''s position right now, but they play QPR with 4 left (they''ll still need to win to clinch the title + there is this points deduction thing), and they finish away at Burnley which isn''t easy....there''s potential points to be dropped for all of the sides up there, including us.If it does come down to the play-offs I don''t see why we shouldn''t do ok...sides with momentum often do well - that is Reading at the moment, but who is to say they won''t either finish 2nd, or lose form in the next 5 games?! Sides that have tended to struggle in the play-offs are those that had it almost in the bag only to falter, but we''ve never really been in that position. We have proven to be tough to beat, having lost only 4 away games, and on our day can win against them all....if it comes down to nerve, hopefully our promotion from last season might count for something....who knows?! If we don''t go up this season we will be left with a very strong squad which can be added to next year and a manager second to none. If City go up with a weak team and struggle, Lambert is far more likely to walk away to a bigger club claiming he had ''taken us as far as he could''. I know the Premier League is the be all and end all for many.... but it doesn''t have to be now.

morty 0 Posted April 13, 2011 The way that the Premier league have decided to restructure the parachute payments I think now is actually just the right time to get promoted.
canaryfan68 0 Posted April 13, 2011 Realistically I feel we will finish 4th, have to say top spot is QPR''s, second to Cardiff and 3rd to Reading (although 2nd and 3rd could swap) and us 4th.I think we are running out of steam and the season is just too long for an automatic. (hey I am not saying its not interesting tho)
