Minster Canary 0 Posted April 15, 2011 ...would you rather:start a 90% fit Grant Holt tonight vs. Nottingham Forest, running the risk that he could do further damage to his hamstring (assuming it is a hamstring strain) and could potentially miss the majority, if not all of then run in; OR don''t run the risk on Holty tonight, having a major impact on our chances of a vital win, but to preserve Holt to ensure he is 100% fighting fit to face Ipswich on Thursday and the remaining games thereafter? morty 0 Posted April 15, 2011 Holt on the bench is the best option.
Norfolk Mustard 94 Posted April 15, 2011 Holt is a huge asset; he should be protected for the remaining games if he''s really only 50/50. Tonight we''re at home. Get the atmosphere right and the u-18''s could do a fair job with 25k supportive fans behind them. Holt looking on from the bench should ensure a top performance from whoever starts in his position. canarydan23 4,060 Posted April 15, 2011 The rest of the games might not matter if we lose tonight. If he feels he can play, play him.
87canary 0 Posted April 15, 2011 Start with Vokes and Jackson. Bring Holt on at half time if it''s all going tits up.
alysha 0 Posted April 15, 2011
Start with Vokes and Jackson. Bring Holt on at half time if it''s all going tits up.
This if Holt isn''t 100% right. However, if he shaked off the minor injury and trained properly yesterday without a problem, I''d start Holt alongside Jackson
87canary 0 Posted April 15, 2011 Yeah, sorry, forgot to put that in! Holt & Jackson if Holt is fully fit
The Walking Man 13 Posted April 15, 2011 Rest Holt tonight entirely. We''ve still got Vokes for two more games, why run the risk of Holt missing the run in and potentailly the play offs for a game where we''ve got an adequate replacement. I''m more worried if he''s not fit after the scum game because then we don''t have a replacement. Vokes and Jackson wouldn''t be the worst partnership in the world. GJP 79 Posted April 15, 2011
Rest Holt tonight entirely.
Is that regardless of whether he feels fully fit or not? Tonight is a massive opportunity for us to get back in 2nd and put the pressure on Cardiff (and Swansea) to get a result tomorrow. Hopefully Holt will be available for selection. Felixfan 53 Posted April 15, 2011 Play him.Points on the board are more important than saving him for later.
