Making Plans 957 Posted April 21, 2011 The strength of our performance tonight will sent a very clear message to Cardiff, Reading & Swansea. You''re going to have to win all your games if you want to take that 2nd spot from us. If we can beat the Scum 5-1 away & put in such an emphatic performance then our rivals must now be believing that will win our 3 remaining fixtures & finish on 86 points. Of our last 4 games this was potentially our toughest & you can bet that all the players from the above mentioned teams would have been watching so they now know that they can''t afford any slip ups. That can only be to our advantage & their disadvantage.Tonight we have put down a marker that says 2nd spot is ours & the pressure is now well & truely on the others. We know we can handle the pressure but can they? CantonsHero 0 Posted April 22, 2011 To think over last four games: Swansea, Forest, Watford, Ipswich we''ve managed 7 points from 12, which is just under 2 points a game, and relatively equal to the average we''ve managed all season, and compared to that run, the next three games look quite nice. Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted April 22, 2011 If Cardiff beat QPR then Warnock will be feeling the heat as next up they have play-off chasing Hull at home. It is not beyond reason that we could be 3 points behind QPR come Monday evening with Cardiff just 2 points behind. This would mean there were two places up for grabs with 2 games left. All in all QPR had better get a result at Cardiff and get back into form before they sleep-walk into the play-offs.In this respect we can enjoy any result in the Cardiff - QPR fixture and just concentrate on ourselves. We had a backlash after tonking Scunny - the players relaxed and lost their edge. It was a shame Delia couldn''t be kept from the cameras tonight because she is a director and co-owner all said and done and crowing like a fan needs to be done off screen in her case. We do not need this kind of image projection - everyone else is ''on message'' and saying the right things. But putting that moan aside to beat Ipswich so emphatically at Portman Road is fantastic but mainly because of the three points and plus 4 goal difference. It will mean very little if we fail to beat Derby. At least we have a guaranteed play-off place and if nothing else the team have exceeded my expectations and entertained me royally. Anything else is a bonus.
