shefcanary 2,341 Posted April 21, 2011 It needs posting in full -since when has Winter ever said anything like this about Norwich - tonight can''t get any betterThese are the nights that Norwich City fans dream of, watching their terrific team take apart their biggest rivals away from home. These are the nights that give substance and further momentum to promotion campaigns. City are on the ball and on the march. If Norwich are to keep the second automatic promotion place, and Cardiff City and Reading will have something to say about that, or rise via the play-offs then Paul Lambert’s attractive side will be a delight to behold on the elite stage.Ipswich Town had been in good form but were blown away by the pace and accuracy of Norwich moves, some engineered by the outstanding Wesley Hoolahan, bringing goals for Andrew Surman, a Gareth McAuley own goal, Simeon Jackson, Russell Martin and Dani Pacheco. Jimmy Bullard’s riposte was fantastic, a 25-yarder, but will be forgotten amidst all the crowing from those with Canaries on their chests.Even before creating Norwich’s first, Hoolahan’s movement had troubled Ipswich. Paul Jewell’s team simply could not track his runs, ostensibly stationed at the tip of Norwich’s diamond but darting all over, such as after 13 minutes. When Marc Tierney collected possession down the left, Hoolahan made one of those scampering little breaks. This was the type of move that makes Lambert’s team so pleasing on the eye: a quick-thinking, quick-passing progression into the danger area. It was all one and two-touch and Town were at sixes and sevens.
NWC 231 Posted April 21, 2011 From that report - "Where once Ipswich had Brazil, now they have Scotland"Its a very, very good line.
