If we're promoted.....

Recommended Posts

.....why not make Lambert a freeman of the City of Norwich?

Lambert must be the hottest property in English football right now and we must do everything possible to keep him here. It would show how highly regarded he is by the people of Norwich, and it would make it that little bit more difficult to leave us if one of the big clubs come calling.

Come on Archant, let''s get a campaign going!

Yes I''m sure that will sway his decision should a big club come in ofering to treble his wages.

Curiously does anyone know what ''odd'' rights a Freeman of the City of Norwich might hold ?

The right to drive sheep over Carrow Bridge ? The right to escort drunken women off a football pitch ? The right to speak in your own language at press interviews ?

Why not make him a Freeman of the Pink Un Forum? Doesn''t it hold similar odd rights? The right to drive lily-livered posters off the board? The right to post what you want on whatever thread you want? The right to ignore the Forum Police?

Why only if we are promoted ?. What he has actually done is saved our football club, had he have not been here I suggest we would have gone into administration last year and with our minus points would have been struggleing this year near the foot of league 1. Finishing 1/2 way with the players he had at his diposal would probably have been a bigger acheivement than Worthington taking us up imo, so what he has acheived is simply amazing.

They made Gunn Sherriff of Norwich and look at what happened to him?Whether we like it or not, Lambert will go from hero to zero in the eyes of many when he ultimately moves on. Let''s just appreciate him while we have him and leave it at that.

Well I believe he will be with us if we go up, and I believe he will be hopeing for a top half finish, he will have the budget to do it, so lets all hope for better days and not trying to line him up with a new club, When he came here he was given a 5 year plan, who knows we may be able to attract afew big names to Carrow road
Can''t argue with that... which is disappointing.  [:)]I share the huge respect and appreciation for Paul Lambert... but Freedom of the City? His stay will be short in historic terms and I''d rather that honour went to the great Robert Chase.

Fellow supporters please join me in proposing  Paul Lambert and David McNally are awarded the honour of Freemen of Norwich in recognition of their services to this fine city. Promoted or not I believe these men have brought a long overdue spirit of expectancy and optimism to Norwich. What''s more they have restored pride back into our previously sick and ailing football club and in doing so have at last given the dedicated supporters of Norwich City FC something to sing and cheer about.Paul Lambert and David McNally you have brought a breath of fresh air, inhaled by all of us who can recognise and appreciate your talent, professionalism and a level of competency which until now have been sadly missing in these offices for more years than I care to recall.  Over the past two seasons you have acted as a catalyst to ignite the Canaries, akin to the mythical Phoenix Firebird which arose from the ashes.Who will endorse this proposal please?

I agree. It will help the men in the little white coats when they come for you......and they will be coming for you.
As your user-name suggests..... get one.FFS.
I am with you her Cluckbert. I don''t get if some these posts are jokes or not or do people serious believe this. He has done a great job so far, best impact manger we have ever had and i believe he will be here for quite a few more years yet. He has a great relationship with McNally and you can''t underestimate that in football. Most clubs in the prem are run by big cats who have a bad relationship with the manger- Lambert is not going to be going there. Lambert is enjoying what he is doing here and we are enjoying it even more, long may it continue, but posts like some on here are ridiculus.

Hmm, would like to agree pricey, but just to play devil''s advocate; would you turn down a more attractive job that offered you a vastly increased wage and farther-reaching repute if you thought you might not get along with the boss as much there? I don''t think a driven guy like Lambert would. Having said that I''m hoping he sticks around if we don''t go to the big league this time.

Yeah and if I win the lottery!

Its all relative at the moment cause anything can happen in 8 games!

Lets worry 1st about getting 3 points against p iss poor Scunny next Saturday who are the exact sort of team we often struggle to get decent results against!

I''ll take a 1-0 win in cr ap rubbish game with a poor Norwich performance right now!
