With Lappin signed to a new deal for emergency cover as well, we''ve got more than enough in the left-back department. Smith obviously hasn''t settled down here and it''s best for all involved if he moves back up north for a ''nominal fee''.

It will be interesting to see what that ''nominal fee'' will be. What ever we sell him for will be pure profit (minus his wages)

I am poo at guessing values on players. How much do you think we will get for him? £200k?????

"probably let him go on a free"

why would we let him go on a free, when he does not run of contract this summer and another club wants him?

Because we''ll probably struggle to find a club that can match the wages he''s on now, let alone pay a transfer fee on top of that.

If he is that desperate to move back up north he must be prepared to take a wage cut if thats what it takes. It would be extreemly bad business from the club if we payed a fee for him in the summer, payed his wages despite spending his time here injured and then let him go for nothing, despite him being under contract
