Pete Raven

Norwich City 6, Scunthorpe 0 - report, table and stats

Very interesting Pete, especially the all-time goal scorers.

How does Ashman get so high up, he was a full-back?

Perhaps because he was a stalwart who played for about 20 years? The goals built up.

Peters'' statistics surprise me too. No wonder he is considered by many as our best ever, even though he was too past it as far as Spurs were concerned. I loved John Bond, except for his choice of music: he was a Blondie fan.

Broadstairs, I too was surprised, but he also played in central defence and at centre-forward before settling down at full-back. In the 48-49 season, for example, he got 12 goals in 24 games (our top scorer) playing up front. and presumably got some goals from set-pieces when he moved into defence. He also was the penalty-taker for many years.
