BBC predictor...

Recommended Posts

...my table has us finishing 2nd on 82. Not scientific but pure gut. 3rd to 6th being Cardiff 81, Swansea 78, Millwall 76, and Reading 76 with Leeds and Forest missing out. Agreed its a random one with Millwall...but I have a feeling on those boys.

Just a bit of fun...but its interesting what comes out if you put all the scores in.

warning - I had us staying up in both the prem and the championship on this predictor in recent years :0/

Every game is a knife edge at the moment. We just can''t afford to loose.

For starters we absolutely have to win our last three home games. Forrest, Derby and Coventry. The real problem is that we have two away fixtures first and it could already be decided by the time we play Coventry. Forrest will be the toughest fixture out of those I should think. Derby are likely to be safe by then or at least in the same position and unlikely to get sucked in at the last minute.

Our away fixtures worry me more though: Swansea, Watford, Ipswich and Portsmouth. I wouldn''t like to have to get a result at any of those places right now but we are going to have to to get an auto spot.

As some people are saying, four wins should be enough but its all about whether Swansea or Cardiff can match our results and then grab an additional two wins, or win and two draws.

Swansea have four home fixtures: us, Hull, Ipswich, Shef Utd. Away they have: Burnley, Portsmouth, Millwall.

A lot depends on whether Swansea continue to stutter slightly but I can see them drawing with us and then winning the other three home games. And then getting at least one win out of their last three away fixtures. That would give them an additional 13points.

Cardiff have 3 home games: Portsmouth, QPR and Middlesborough. Away: Donny, Shef Utd, Preston, Burnley.

I can see Cardiff beating Portsmouth and M''borough but having a tough game against QPR - lets call it a draw. I think they will also get results against Preston and Shef Utd and at least a point from the other two. Total of 14points.

That would leave Swansea on 79points and Cardiff on 80.

We are going to be relying on a lot of other teams to provide hazards for them to stumble up on - Ipswich even.

I think Cardiff have the easiest run in on paper, the only have to play two teams in the top half of the table.

All I can say is ouch! Edge of the seat season continues! I am way past nail biting, my fingers are almost bloody stumps!

You need to pull out a pipe and start smoking it, or take a vicodin. You''re way too high strung and it sounds like you may harm yourself, or another, when that aneurysm kicks in.I suggest you sit back, strap yourself in and leave it to Lambert and the boys to give us a level of entertainment that has never before been witnessed by Canaries'' fans.I for one gave up worrying back in January and have believed in nothing less than 2nd spot ever since. If at any point you begin to doubt, simply recall this one unequivocal fact: Paul Lambert is a genius.

Chicken - I think the run ins for NCFC, Cardiff & Swansea are equally challenging.

Whoever finishes 2nd will deserve it and if it isn''t us then so be it.

I don''t buy all these predictor things, but what I did buy is a couple pairs of yellow socks and wear them on match days, I didn''t wear them for the Orient game, we all know what happened then, but they work when I have them on

The longer term stats are useually a good guide, albeit not certain i know. 4 out of the last 5 seasons 80 points takes 2nd spot. That would mean us getting 10 points dfrom the last 7 games. I would see us probably getting a few more than that although dont have a clue what games this is too hard to predict.

On the other side of things Cardiff and swansea to get to 80 need 14 points from the last 7 meaning they can only afford to drop 7 points in all the remaining games which really puts the pressure on them

With our away record the only away game that concerns me is Ipswich, they will still be hurting big time from the beating we handed out at CR and will be out for revenge. Having said that we have only been beaten on the road 3 times all season so we are more than capable of getting at least a point there. My prediction is for a win and two draws with a defeat at Ipswich and two wins and a draw from our last three home games giving us 82 points to claim 2nd spot.
