Dont know details just caught end of news on sky something about hereford & another team being found guilty & had points deducted as a result of fielding ineligible player, Why can the FA sort out this but are pussy footing around QPR?

I''m guessing the reasons for this is because the QPR incident only came into the public domain more recently than the Hereford/Torquay issue- it has been more than two months since the match took place. Also, QPR have been charged for a load of things- seven charges, to be precise. Hereford and Torquay committed one offence each. However, this does set a precedent. Each side had a player playing who was not eligible, resulting in points docked. Hopefully the FA are consistent and fair, but I wouldn''t hold my breath.

You are forgetting that League 1 teams will have no means of appealing any fines.

The league/FA know that QPR have the clout to put up a legal fight.

Completely frustrating, money talks.

Yes Paradox it was just one game. They both missed the 12 o''clock registration on the Friday before the game.

Torquay informed the FA which is why they only got 1 point deduction. Not sure about Hereford, maybe they didn''t inform the FA which is why they got 3

So what, With all the evidence stacked against them even an appeal would go against them.

Firstly Hereford and Torquay admitted the charges.

The QPR player was not ineligible ( the league sanctioned the move ) it was the underhanded way that he was signed ie non disclosed payments to agents. The precedent for this charge alone is an 18 point deduction ie Luton Town. But hey who knows what will happen the Football League protected themselves against being able to let somebody like QPR off by making Luton sign a document to say they would never appeal or make public comment. The trade was Luton would not be thrown out of the league.

Yes they were just for one game. Torquay drew the game so lost 1 point and Hereford won so lost 3 points.

The fact that the QPR hearing has been set for the date it has smacks of a stitch up to me. It would not surprise me if they are docked some points but it conveniently happens to be a number of points which makes no difference to the outcome of the season - i.e. if they win the league by 9 points they will be docked 8.

Football is supposed to be the same from the Premier League to U10s (or whatever).  We shall see it punishments are within the scope of fairness and balance once a larger team with cash is concerned.  Like what''s been all ready said... I won''t hold my breathe either.

The League sanctioned the move but QPR allegedly held back certain salient facts such as him being third-party owned, and that would have meant that the deal would not have been sanctioned. Thus the deal could well be invalid and Faurlin consequently ineligible to play throughout the whole of last season and much of this.  I would not be surprised to see QPR relegated to Div 1 but remain in the Championship on appeal, just as happened with Swindon Town many years ago.

They should have punished them the first time they realised and not let them buy out his rights. Now they''ve apparently re-offended by witholding info again they should set one hell of an example and show that no one gets away with it - the question is..can they prove they witheld info etc etc?

I posted the same thing on WotB yesterday - also added that I didn''t think that this would have any effect on NCFC as the third bottom team in the Prem would saved as opposed to an extra Championship team being promoted. It would not effect the playoffs and would give the authorities longer to hear the inevitable appeal and they could also plan nest season''s fixtures should QPR either be in the Prem or the Championship; I believe this "either/or" was taken into account when Sheffield United were appealing against the Carlos Tevez West Ham transfer.

So it’s either a small points deduction or some sort of relegation for QPR, but the decision will probably be neutral as far as NCFC are concerned.

I would imagine that full evidence of previous third-party ownership came to light when QPR bought out the rights around October 2010. I also cannot see how QPR can plead that the original deal was a genuine error due to ignorance when there was all the publicity surrounding the Tevez affair at the time they made their deal. They are in deep trouble IMO.

I disagree and believe that the FA have set the date for decision deliberately prior to the play-offs, as QPR will be ejected at least from the top six thus bringing the team that finishes seventh into the play-offs. This is not neutral for us as it would probably make us champions.
