Are we to take it that "no news is bad news" on the Hoolahan injury front?

Recommended Posts

Presumably he''s had the scans and the results would be known by now?. If it were a minor injury, surely this would have been announced by now....I dont believe this kind of info is witheld to "keep Swansea guessing". I remember there was silence for the week following Barnett''s injury earlier in the season before the bad news became known,....................... I''m bracing myself for the worst.

Incredibly gutting for him if he is out for the rest of the season but with the reinforcements that have been brought in, I don''t fear our results will suffer comparably. All about the club, come on city.

Turn it on its head... at the moment Swansea know as much as we do and so will be having to prepear for several different options, could be the case of taking advantage of a knock or a dead leg to play some mind games! I hope at least.

I really hope your right, but given how much the club must know that the fans are concerned ,a simple line in the press of "the injury isn''t as bad as first feared" wouldn''t go a miss !?!

Why? Surely making preparation for the game on Saturday as hard as possible for Swansea is a good opportunity to get an upper hand? Oh, some fans might not know whats going on for a week, but I''m sure everyone''s hearts will be able to cope with the stress!

gotta agree with birchfest and soton, make swansea plan for both with and without  hooly , meaning they''re not as prepared in either scenario. would definitely agree we know the outcome of scan results , if he is slightly injured i doubt we would  risk him though.

I fear the worst, but full praise to Lambert for having the foresight (and patience) to get Pacheco in, and Lansbury before that! Team unity will overcome this! OTBC!

Let Swansea worry about whether he is fit or not!

If he is, then they have him and Dani to worry about. If not, then Simeon is hitting goalscoring form at the right moment!

Being a doctor (well, someone who has watched House: seasons 1-6) my diagnosis would be at least one week''s absence. However, I would also test for lupus and auto immune. Just in case.

I hope Lambert doesn''t reveal anything in the press conference, keep Swansea guessing that''s what I say!

I am confident he is fit for the weekend. The injury is not anything major, its a hamstring injury, which if serious would have him out for the season, however if it was serious he would not have driven his car home from the scunny game- infact i doubt he would even with a minor hamstring injury. No news is good news because there is no big injury. Also to the person who said Lambert should at least come out in a press conference and tell the fans, thats absurd, the fans understand why he wouldn''t, keep Swansea guessing about our team for as long as possible

Delay means neither good nor bad news necessarily.

The actual assessment, involving at least one scan and possibly a consultation with a specialist doctor. This is why "later in the week" was the answer given whwn someone asked.

I suspect that PL probably knows by now, and is considering the implications.

I think it very likely that Hooly will miss the game on Saturday, at least, but why alert Swansea now? How many more games he will miss remains to be seen. He did seem to be in some distress last Saturday, but it has to be be confirmed that it was a hamstring causing him pain, and then how badly torn it is.

We may learn something from the weekly press conference tomorrow.

I would be gutted if he was out for long - he''s blatantly going to miss the Swans game, which is what sucks the most - Lansbury and Pacheco can play his position, but no one tracks back like Wes and then gets back forward again. He''s been immense this season in doing that and on tv especially he seems to step up even more. I''m sure the lads will get through without him and add their own qualities in replacement, but he''ll be missed for sure

Well i was hoping no news was good news in the Leon Barnett situation, then you find out in the Press Conference that he will miss the rest of the season.

I suspect Wes will miss Saturday''s game, but won''t miss much more than that.
