Chelmsford Canary 0 Posted March 25, 2011 I know its a bit early still to be talking about who should take the title, but its going to be tough call.My top three in order would have to be:1 - Wes2 - Holt3 - CroftsRussell Martin, Ruddy, Ward are the only others to have played most of the season. Shame for Barnett as he would have been close, as would Zak if he had played all of season at current form. Unsung - Fox
Sing up the river end 0 Posted March 25, 2011 1.Crofts2.Holt3.RuddyOthers very unlucky not to be in the top 3 for me are Wes and R.Martin.Also if Whitbread had played more he could of been in with a shout.
Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted March 25, 2011 Agree with that, though tough between R.Martin and Crofts. Also completely agree about Whitbread, finally showing his potential and has been like a January transfer for us, dont think Barnett will simply come straight back in to the side.Wes should win POTS, if for nothing other than being beaten to the top 3 last season by Doc! But seriously hes actually improved on last season and championship teams, unlike in League 1, still havent worked out how to shut him out of a game. Shows the determination of the player and good management (moving him around the diamond, changing formation, even dropping him occasionally!) thats hes been such a threat on such a consistent basis. CRAZY LEGS 0 Posted March 25, 2011 1-holt2-wes3-croftswithout holt we would be about 8th or 9th, crucial goalswinning free kicks and getting us a 1 man advantage non stop for 90 mins, the only player we have that we could not replace.

No need for me to post mine now, looks like you did it for me! Holt is a machine and without him we would have lost/drawn a lot more games this season. When we are 1-0 down nearing the end, who better to have than Holt? He just keep going, I get tired watching him sometimes! I just have a horrible feeling he''s going to get injured/suspended soon and means we finish in the Playoffs rather than top 2. After Holt its a toss up between Wes, Crofts, Ruddy or R. Martin

GJP 79 Posted March 25, 2011 At this stage I think the top 3 have to be Holt, Hoolahan and Crofts. I think I''d go for Crofts in 3rd but deciding between Holt and Hoolahan for 1st and 2nd is very tough. If Holt makes it to 20 league goals this season it will be very hard to overlook him. Out of the rest of the pack who closely follow behind that top 3 I would have to say that Fox has been excellent since establishing himself in the midfield, the quality of some of his football has been superb. YellowLittle1 0 Posted March 25, 2011 Pretty hard picking out three players in a brilliant season.Mine are:Wes HoltFoxFox is my favourite player now, one of the best passers in this division and I bet a lot of people don''t really look at his name on the teamsheet from an outside point of view.Defintely the Xabi Alonso of the Championship! Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,616 Posted March 25, 2011 It is between Crofts, Holt and Martin for me... they each have fantastic cases and I''m not sure which one I''d go for.Makes a change to have a few genuine contenders, compared to the year Lee Croft won... Chunky Norwich 0 Posted March 25, 2011 Yep, I believe this is what they mean when they say ''give the manager a headache''.It''s pretty tricky to separate Crofts and R Martin for me but I also think it''s worth mentioning Barnett who had been an absolute rock since the first minute of signing until his injury. As I''ve said before and been criticised, I believe Holt, Ruddy and Hoolahoop have had too much of an up-and-down season to be considered outright winners

Ruddy started slowly/poorly, and for the early part of the season Wes was only good in brief periods. Holt, however, has been a vital member of the team all season- when he doesn''t play, we are a shadow of our usual selves.

Hunter106 0 Posted March 25, 2011 1. Crofts2. R. Martin 3. HoolahanWould have Holt up there, but as its so close between 6 or 7 players, and he won it last year(and might even get Championship player of the season), someone else needs a chance! Would be a nice idea if we do get promoted, if we could just have the whole team win it, I know it kind of defeats the object of the trophy, but there has been nobody in the starting XI that havent pulled their weight this year. The top 3 could be filled with any of the following - Ruddy, R. Martin, Barnett, Whitbred, Fox, Crofts, Hoolahan, Holt, Lansbury.
Phillip J Fry 0 Posted March 25, 2011 Holt, in my eyes, is the only option. Whilst other players such as Crofts, Hoolahan, R. Martin and Ruddy have been excellent this season, Norwich have, at one point or another, won without them (the obvious exception being R. Martin who has appeared in every game). When Holt is not in the team we haven''t won. That means something and shows how important he is to this side and is why he has my vote.
Mr Brownstone 0 Posted March 25, 2011 Holt for the same reason as others have said, he doesn''t play we don''t win, and in my opinion he''s the only player in the squad who is irreplaceable.

Every time I speak to fans of rival championship clubs the first player they mention and the one they would want at their clubs is Hoolahan. Having only seen half a dozen games I am in no position to judge this season.
