grantroederdisaster 0 Posted March 11, 2011 Not that I have any inside information but I''ve always suspected that Martins injury was a cover up for something else but not this!If this is indeed the case and C Martin isn''t injured but is instead deemed not in the right frame of mind to play then maybe its right that he is guarded from the glare of publicity that this would create! Hunter106 0 Posted March 11, 2011 Lambert seems to like to keep us informed about how well players are doing and how far they are from returning back to action. Today when I read the news article on the pinkun hompage about two players being out, he mentions about Lappin and how he travelled in the squad on Tuesday, yet Martin was briefly mentioned as being sidelined with a hamstring injury and I found this really weird. It seems strange how it all began around his court appearance, but as he has been spotted about the area I guess he cant be serving a sentence or anything! I cant help feeling that there is more to the story than the club is letting on, whether this has something to do with his cousin being murdered or something else I dont know. I''m not trying to create rumors or anything before I get shot, merely commenting on the strange way in which this situation has been handled.
Bruce Eats Walkers! 0 Posted March 11, 2011 Defiantly injured, the club are Playing it by ear so as to avoid a Surman type recurrence by rushing him back too quickly. He''s projected to be out for about 6 weeks total.
Bury Yellow 2 Posted March 11, 2011 I have no foundation but I think he has been disciplined because of his continual problems with the law.Lambo is nver a critic of his players in public. I admit I may be well wide of the mark but as others have said the whole story doesn''t make sense.Credit to Lambo he has been 100% supportive of Chris Martin since he became manager and I feel he thinks the lad has potential but I also think he is loosing patience. Look at Lambo''s record over the years in dealing with wayward players. He makes Henry V111 look like pussy cat!!!
The gut 0 Posted March 11, 2011 what if he is injured and his cousin was murdered, mmmm, if that was the case then some of our Miss Marples will have to look for possible connections

That''s it.......We didn''t land on the moon (probably Gary Doherty''s fault), JFK was shot by the illuminati (who Andy Hughes is a key member of) and the lochness monster is alive and well (claiming to be Robert Earnshaws better looking brother)Why doesn''t it make sense? ruddys glove 0 Posted March 12, 2011 Rumour, seems more than that,The supposed injury is just a smoke screen, The club will not publicly censure Chris Martin, but something is amiss about all this, I love to watch training at Colney when can, I will leave it there, but by all accounts Super Chris is in bother with the Gaffer. We want him back in the squad, his rightful place, lets all hope he gets back in there with the proper team mentality. Block Y Seat 176 80 Posted March 12, 2011 Many managers have done just that, Wickham and Keane seems to fit the bill. Clough did it, Oneil has as well. Lambert has built a team ethos, nothing will be allowed to break that bond. There are no stars at Carrow Road, just honest players who give their all.Stand outside that and stick two fingers up at the manager by off the field issues and there will only be one winner.Do i think he is injured, yes. The summer clear out will reveal all.HRH
Alex Moss 2,167 Posted March 12, 2011 I''m sorry, but bringing up such personal business like this is on here is, in my mind, taking it a little bit far folks. People can speculate however much they like about his absence, but it''s one thing discussing publically about being a naughty boy - but losing a member of your family in such a manner is devastating beyond words, and dragging all this sensitive business up on here is verging on stalking or something similar. I know i''ll get slagged off for it, but @rsed - Let''s have some respect for Chris at what is clearly an extremely difficult time for him, the lad must be in pieces at the moment, and making a big deal on here of what is such a clearly private family matter just isn''t right. Here''s hoping all this builds him into a stronger character, and he''s back enjoying his football before long. OTBCM

Alex Moss 2,167 Posted March 12, 2011
Well said Alex and I will repeat my only comment on this thread so far - He is injured just accept it.
I think the timing of the injury is just unfortunate myself, it just so happens that other things are happening in his (should be respected) private life. I''m sure our brilliant manager knows exactly how far he is off from making a return regarding the injury front - Just he can''t announce publically as the other business combined makes it understandably impossible to fully calculate a return date. It''ll be interesting to see if he manages to dislodge Wilbraham (or A.N.Other) from the starting line up on his return. I for one, really look forward to him returning and pushing for his old spot as soon as is good for him.
