last nites substitutions

thought Lambert got those wrong, as why oh why was it left til 88 minutes to bring on Jackson and then take off Hoolahan! Thought fox was better than Lansbury too so was surprised he was taken off also and thought Wilbraham should have been taken off also!!

I thought Jackson should have been brought on sooner than he was and should have come on before Korey.

When we brought Korey on it was almost as if we were happy to take the 1-0 and rest on our laurels. Perhaps a more attack minded substitution would have given us that bit extra to find a second goal and kill the game.

I also think we miss McNamee as an attack minded player to come on who will worry the opposition a bit and encourage the nature of our play to be more attacking.

Yeah I didn''t think Mr Backward-Pass Smith was the right person to come on when we are searching for that second goal. I also don''t see what Jackson has got to do to get a fair crack of the whip.

Why would you start criticising Korey Smith? One of the best products of our youth system in recent years and you say something ridiculous like that!

I bet you booed at the final whistle last night too...

I said at the time that I thought bringing Korey on was more of a sign that Lambert wanted to keep the lead rather than extend it. That is not a criticism of Smith, more of a reflection of different styles of play between him and Lansbury. I didn''t think that was the right decision but I can appreciate why it was made.

I love you Smudger - on nearly every thread I have viewed tonight you have managed to get the same theme worded slightly different posted.

I disagree (at my peril) with you about Korey last night. Winning the ball wasn''t the problem, keeping it and creating with it was.

I think teams have been very wise to how we play for most of the season it seems to me that the formation suits us best and we are more likely than not to get a result from it. I think Doncaster did their job well last night but we struggled to up the pace and zip the ball about. I do not think this is unusual when you face a struggling team. We played poorly last night, and the team were below par throughout. There were no stars and MOM  was a lottery for all the wrong reasons.

Why are we now screwed for pace up front? I thought it was Martin that was injured. In my opinion however woeful you think Wilbraham might have been I am certain that Jackson was many times worse when I last saw him start at Burnley. Jackson had apparantly lost any confidence before last night, he may get a chance again at some stage but he certainly doesn''t deserve one.

The player I would like to have seen last night was MacNamee, but he wasn''t available. This was the sort of game that he has been able to turn around before. For me he is our supersub. He definitely injects speed and energy to our attacks.
