Doncaster: on reflection.

Recommended Posts

Yes, our players looked strangely out of sorts but having watched the highlights again we certainly created some excellent chances and more than enough to have won the game comfortably. There really is no need to press the panic button; we just failed to reach the very high standards we have become used to. The booing was frustration, that''s all.

With that in mind and having got an under par performance out of the system the damage is not too bad. It is going to be tight and go to the wire and other sides will slip or see results decided on slim margins.

Season after season we see sides blow up with the pressure. Paul Lambert knows that ranting can only be done in occasional measures because, as with superlatives, you quickly run out of material - note Roeder - and people switch off. Paul is handling things really well and his support of Wilbraham testifies to this; he seeks to keep the sense of spirit going and wants the supporters to be a key element. On Tuesday the fans opted out of that for a while but I''m sure the excellent away support will get things back onto track today.

If we can win today the Yorkshire three of two away and one home will yield 5 points and that is certainly on track for this season. I hope the boys get into the game early for a change and look stronger in midfield as Barnsley will surely look to play the anti-Norwich formula of five in midfield and attack the exposed full backs.

As a final thought, how great is it to be in the mix and looking at ourselves and the competition in an everything to play for season end. Before last season it was all false dawns and mediocrity. These are terrific times............Come On You Yellows!

There has been a massive over reaction to the Donny game.  We are still 5 points clear of 7th and other teams dropped points around us such as Leicster and Leeds.

We were just one more goal away from probably scoring 4 because Donny would have had to come out at us and we would have been too much for them.  And we did create enough chances as well, Wilbraham''s was the most blatent but Crofts narrowly missed as well.

I think we should move on from this now and concentrate on beating Barnsley with Wilbraham scoring the winner [;)]
