We should have kept Cureton!

Recommended Posts

I know he had his knockers (ooo, er missus), me included, but Cureton would have scored more in the Championship this season than Jackson or Wilbraham, both even and more than Martin will get this season too.

We now have all our eggs in one basket relying on Holt, our only striker who can score. Jackson would fall over in front of an open goal rather than put the ball in the net, Wilbraham couldn''t score in a brothel for ugly people and Chris Martin is back to his Championship best again this season[Y]

People were quick to mock Cureton and get on his back, now look where we are with the other strikers (excluding Holt).

Yes, we get goals form other areas, but to get into the top 2, you need more goals from your front men than we have got.  We either need to get someone in on loan who can at least score or one of the 3 amigos needs to start scoring some goals.

Bad mistake Lambert, we should have kept Curo this season, he has the experience and can at least put the ball over the line and actually score a goal.

Best you look at his scoring record with us. Going by goal scoring that makes Cody even better, keep going with this sort of thread, we will get Lambert out eventually. As Villa supporters will tell you be careful what you wish for

"Division two.

Shrewsbury Town

Cureton joined Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the 2009/2010

season on 16 February 2010 from Norwich. After a number of starts and a

number of unimpressive performances, he was sent back to Norwich

prematurely."

Because he''s got double figures in league one means we should of kept him, get a grip. I''m starting to think you only said this to get people talking because i''m sure no-one sane would come up with that point of view.

Cureton would have scored as many as you and I combined in the Championship.  A washed up, paceless, one-trick pony who spent most of his time bleating to the EEN because he couldn''t get in the first team without realising it was because he''s sh*t.

I am not wasting Lucozade, it''s flippin expensive stuff!

Wilbraham can''t score, Jackson can''t score and (heaven forbid for me mentioning it) Chris Martin can''t score.  Yes, we have got ourselves in a great position and top 6, anyone would have taken that at the start of the season and it''s good that the goals are spread out throughout the team.  It''s frustating that when it comes to the crunch we are probably only a decent goal scorer away from automatic promotion - something which we have had the ability to do something about and should have, but it''s looking increasingly like we won''t.

Surely it was worth the expenditure on a decent striker, there are no guarantees that we will get as close again next season, or for a few more seasons even.

When Cureton couldn''t score for us he got ripped to shreds, but the others (excluding perhaps Wilbraham) seem immune from criticism, and heaven forbid anyone who criticises Martin, they''ll have a lynch mob after them and none of them get it to the extent that Cureton did!

We probably shouldn''t have let Roberts, Fleming, Dublin or Makay retire either.....

And the Jarvis brothers, why did we let them go?

And as for Ian Henderson, look at the career he has had since, rejected an England call up because he is too good, and refused to sign for Barca as he thought he would embarrass Messi....
