Parking at Leeds?

Recommended Posts

there is plenty of parking at the ground. when you turn off the M621 (sign posted  Elland road) take the  left turn at the lights and you will have carparks on both sides of you. the away supporters usually park in the left hand side carpark(100yrd walk to ground)
be aware! http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2295889,00.html
West Yorkshire Police is encouraging football supporters attending Leeds United''s fixture against Norwich City to plan their journey carefully because of motorway roadworks and car park closures. There are major roadworks on the M621 near to Elland Road, and two of the car parks near to the stadium which are frequently used by supporters will be occupied by the Leeds Valentine''s Fair.Large crowds are expected for the Saturday afternoon fixture against Norwich and fans attending the match are asked to take the roadworks and car park closures into account when travelling.A special bus service will offer return trips from the city centre to Elland Road for a small fee, and licensed bars will be open inside the stands within the ground.Superintendent Dave Oldroyd said: "The last thing we want is for supporters to miss the start of the matches, but because of the roadworks and car park closures it is important that fans think carefully about how they will get to and from the games."It may be more suitable for some supporters to use public transport or official supporters'' buses. However, if you must use your own transport it is essential that you allow extra time for your journey."

Would have been better if they had told us the alternative car parks or how long the delays may take.

Why did West Yorkshire Police wait until 48 hours before the game to issue this advise? Telling people to use official club transport or public transport. Very helpful. Who leaves it this late in the day to sort out their travel arrangements? They could have told us this weeks ago. Idiots!

The map is wrong, the Drysalters is further down from the flag''A'' about another 200 yards or so just off the map past crow nest lane on the ring road
Thanks.
Are there any pubs near there or is there somewhere else to park near a pub for away fans please?
As you are travelling with Team Fanny Magnet WITS you should have been informed by the driver that you are on car minding duties and as such will not be permitted to drink with the Magnets in any pubs.

Betwwen the Ground and the drysalters pub there is plenty of car parks. You maybe best trying to park at the drysalters itself as you will have a nightmare getting out of all car parks at Elland Road. the pub is a 5 min walk to the stadium but you will be able to get out and away once you reach your car. I normally park my car for free in the estate opposite the Drysalters. Most car parking is £5.

Alternative is you park in the car park opposite the away stand but you will still have to walk to the Pub and back again and you again will be delayed trying to get out the car park.

Apparently if you come off the M621 by Junction 7 and head towards Hunslet you will also miss all of the road works on the M621 too.

Happy traveling boys & girls and come on City... here''s to another 3 points!
