First Wazzock 861 Posted February 12, 2011 We have the (joint) lowest goal difference of the leading pack how costly will this prove to be at the end of the season if things are really tight at the top?
I am a Banana 0 Posted February 12, 2011 goal difference doesn''t matter if we keep winning. But we are due to give someone a real thumping...next saturday maybe [:P]
First Wazzock 861 Posted February 19, 2011 I''m still bothered about this, we could do with giving someone a good hiding. A big goal difference is a good as an extra point.
KCASN 0 Posted February 19, 2011 This too has worried me!
Largey 0 Posted February 19, 2011 It''s only 2 or 3 above the others and a lot better than Leicester, stop worrying!
When Saturday Comes 0 Posted February 19, 2011 Obviously will make a huge difference if we end up level on points with 2nd place, but not much we can do about it really except for thumping someone. Let''s just keep gathering points - got to be looking for 9 from next 3 games realistically.
The Bunny 292 Posted February 19, 2011 Any amount of goal difference is ultimately worth less than a single point. It''s pretty pointless worrying about it with so many points still to play for.
Ivana_rubyatitz 6 Posted February 19, 2011 Our indifferent home form earlier in the season is more likely to come back and bite us I suspect. If we get close enough for goal difference to come into the equation then it will be a nice problem to have!
Theres only one Ken Foggo 0 Posted February 19, 2011 Our opponents on Tuesday, Doncaster, have let in 11 goals in their last three games. Could be a great opportunity to boost our goal difference - but then again it rarely works like that.
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted February 19, 2011 Its better than Leicester in 7th
Muddy funster 0 Posted February 20, 2011 If we tonk a depleted Donny on Tuesday 4-0 then we''ll be really getting under the other top 5''s skin. Could get interesting.....
ZLF 261 Posted February 20, 2011 goal difference rarely counts - its points on the boards that matters - and tonking Donny 1-0 or 4-0 does not really matter - the nil bit doesWhat may make a difference is the constant need to score 2 to have a chance of winning. If we can tighten up at the back we will get more points - we have to lose this habit of conceeding relatively soft goals through the middle - teh goals against column is too big. Salopian 1 Posted February 20, 2011 It really does bother me.We have scored almost as many other club ibn the top six, and while we have not suffered massive defeats we regularly concede at least 1. How many clean sheets have we had this season? I think that this may be the downside of the diamond - only two wide midfielders and the need for the bakcs to get forward means that we are very vulnerable to raids down the wings. With Barnett out, and Ward still struggling a little, we have to find a loan CB. Now with Martin C out a loan striker is also surely needed.
