Does Lambert owe us anything??

Recommended Posts

or is he in his rights to say "job done".

He could say that he took us over when we were 5th from bottom in League One and has left us in our healthiest position in this division since we won promotion 6 years ago ,half way through the season in 3rd place.

He may say that this was his remit and that he has acheived it and can go no further?

What we would presumably be is a very attractive job and I would expect a long list of people declaring their interest in us....afterall, how often does a manager get to take over a club so far up in the league?

If you do decide to go Lambert, thanks for pulling us back from the abyss and leaving us in a healthy position....

but

.

I hope you fail at Burnley and look back upon this at the end of your career as the biggest mistake you''ve ever made !.

This is a pretty intelligent view and I quite like it.I think it''s inevitable that he''s going and February 5th will be an interesting day.Feasibly who could we get? Was Houghton and Newcastle a fluke, or could anyone with half a brain have promoted that team?Would we want/could we get Martin O''Neill back?

the key is that we don''t sell ourselves short, and I believe that we can get better than MacKay.

,

This is a hugely, attactive job for people both in and out of jobs and I would expect some pretty high profile names throwing their hat into the ring.

.

We can pick an choose here from a rare position of strength in terms of league placing.

.

to the poster who mentioned Hughton being a ''fluke''....who''s to say that Lambert hasn''t been so far this season. Burnley would do well to remember that this is FIRST time that Lambert has ever managed at this level !
Someone with commitment like Malky would be key.
But I don''t see how he''d demonstrate commitment by walking out on Watford...

No he doesn''t owe us anything ... it is perfectly normal for managers move on to better oportunities but why swap a club selling 25k seats with a better recent footballing history and sitting joint 2nd in the league for a midtable side with one meagre prem season playing in a tinpot stadium infront of 10,000 fans?

This move doesn''t make sense ... except for short term financial reasons.
