My take...and Lambert as man of principle

Recommended Posts

Ok...I realise I may need a hard hat. But this has been a story in the making for a week or two for me. Lambert has said pointedly on occasions "No-one will be sold in January" and it would be a "major problem" if it happened. Well, if that''s not a big clue....I''m sure too that PL''s mentor (O''Neill) will have advised him to be your own man (or PL will know anyeway how M O''N thinks anyway) and not let the club dictate to you. Remember Windass? Well let''s say the club have received a great offer (£3m say for Hoolihan) and have talked about the deal....PL can then leave, principled and not contaminated by any claim of disloyalty etc. Nor will his stock decrease because he has taken the club to heights not seen for several years and is doing it over two seasons. He is a wanted man.

So the Burnley thing might not be his idea either of a great move...but it may have some compensations at least...discussed in this forum umpteen times already. Of course we''re the bigger potential - PL knows that too. The delay is about continuing debate and negotiation, or compensation or alternative offers...doubt it will be seriously about increasing his salary. I think PL knows what the Carrow Road faithful think of him - for god''s sake look at the 30,000 posts and reads today and last night. He is very important to NCFC too - I don''t know what will happen tomorrow  but do reckon the club is buying time and asking Paul to honour the cup match at least...giving also PL time in a strange way to say goodbye or who knows, going back on player sale??? Anyway I reckon Martin O''Neill will be talking to him.

At first I felt rankled by such crass silence and it almost feels like discourtesy but now my feelings and interpretations have changed. Anyone else agree or think something similar?

How was the way he left Colchester being "a man of principle"? Take off the yellow and green glasses!Snyone can talk a good game (although some of our recent managers seemed to struggle!) but your actions are proof of the person you are.

yeah agree....  but what if your deliberate ''non-action'' is principled? I have to agree with you about Colchester. It''s just my take and is my analysis - not the usual posted stuff on here today saying "he''s gone" or "he''s staying" without any shred of evidence. I''m trying to work out the meaning of his silence, baffling though it is and I have to say seemingly ominous
