For gods sake we are all fans at the end of the day, and no1 deserves what quite alot of you have have been posting today!! pete 371 Posted January 8, 2011 The hysteria on this board yesterday was pretty ridiculos.PL will go one day too talented for City but too ambitious for a little club like Burnley.If PL had gone I am sure Malky would have jumped at the chance to manage City, in his own way proving to be a good manager which would have been a suitable replacement.PL seems to like playing mind games with supporters and management a little Machiavellian, be prepares for a few more twists in the PL saga. MM a far more straightforward character.However if PL read. some of the barbed comments on here he may just have left out of spite.Glad he is staying though. Just bloody wait till official confirmation is made next time, jesus christ! Lambert is and will always be a legend in my eyes. I never doubted him. If he declined an approach last season from PREMIER LEAGUE Burnley, there would be no way that he would leave Norwich (with better ground, better fans, higher in league, squad he has made, financial backing) for Burnley who don''t seem to have any benefits over us. When the club gave the hands-off message to Burnley, and PL was very brief in accepting what they said, at the press conference, many of us were just bemused.If his meeting with McNally beforehand had agreed something rather fuller, like the evening message and interview with Sky, the whole speculative bubble would have burst. I and others did draw the wrong conclusion, perhaps,at the brevity of PL on such a serious matter, because we feared that all the hard-fought success this season could be lost. I felt that PL was a victim, and in no way did I impugn his motives.I do not feel the need to apologise. I am sorry that we wre not given the position of Club and manager early in the day. Mike 68 Posted January 8, 2011 The FACT remains that something definitely went on behind the scenes & that is why Lambert did not come out and say straight away that he was not interested, as he did before when Burnley got interested. Hopefully, he asked for & got some assurances from the board & can move on. People commented on Lambert because it was clear to them that he was not committing fully (he has done now) to the club.I''m very happy that he is staying because it''s clear that things are working for him & the club at the moment. It''s also a bit worrying when one person can have such an effect on a club and hopefully when it arises again in the future we move on swiftly & do the right thing to ensure the continued rise of NCFC.Posts from people like this are both silly & pointless.... a bit like the season ticket rebate posts of a few years ago!Also, I do wish that legend was used a bit more sparingly. Geoffrey Watling is the sort of person I call a legend. Lifelong fan, saved the club from bankrupcy, twice & sorted out Chase. He was committed to NCFC & did so his entire life.
