Most Annoying Thing Happened At A Football Match

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would see what is the most annoying thing that has happened to you at a football match, the things that has had you seething and spitting blood.

One of mine is when Norwich got relegated at Fulham seeing Damien Francis laughing as he went past the Norwich fans

Last weekend actually at Boro away. This chav (i know I shouldn''t judge, but grrrrr [:@]) tried to kick me out of my seat, and succeeded I guess. I was sitting there, and he came and joined his two friends (who actually seemed nice), however there was no room. So I said to him, "look mate, this is my seat, sorry but I am sitting here". So he replies with "move over there before I throw you over there". I was shocked, and scared. I just said, this is my seat, so I am sitting here. So he instantly got all up into my face, so I asked this guy about 3 seats to my left to shuffle up. He goes to me "f''ing idiot, you sit where you like at away games. I bet this is your first one, i am always here" errr, I have been to 7 away games this season alone, and considering I am just 16 I wouldn''t say that is bad. I was fuming, not only has he acted like a complete tosser, but he has got his own way and insulted my committment to the cause of NCFC. So I had to sit there for 45 mins next to him, with thoughts going round my head (bearing in mind I am quite a wuss and it shook me up a little). I am a 16 year old, he is a 25 year old scabby chav, why be like that? [:|] [:@] I hate him beyond belief. If he was to have said to me "mate, would you mind moving up so I can sit next to my friends please?" I would have been fine, but to instantly be hostile, agressive and confronting is just disgusting behaviour. There was nothing I could do, I am 16 so it was either oblige or get a hiding. It sort of ruined my trip, which I paid good money and spent a long time getting there. I wanted to like tell a steward or something but that would have took a while, and caused a big scene. I really was fuming beyond belief. It might sound small, but it was a big thing for me. [:(] What advice would you have if this happened again?

F''in Deck him Lol.

Seriously, you should have spoken to a steward, as he may have been drunk or have been ''over the limit'' on another type of addictive substance? He may have been lucky to be allowed to watch the game so let the stewards (tango squad) know [y]

I know you''re only 16, but if you drink a couple of pints before the game you will be 6"2'' and bullet proof!!!

But seriously, fear is in the mind mostly, 9 times out of 10 if you stand up to a bully he will back down. You need to decide whether the pain of a kicking is less than the mental pain he dished out to you. But that is something you can only work out for yourself.

That really does suck big time mate. The only thing you can really do in that situation, without risk of getting beat up, is immediately get up and report it to a steward - insisting the guy is removed or you get an equal or better seat somewhere far away from the idiot.

I was once involved in an incident, outside of football, when a deaf guy decided to pick a fight with me. When I finally resonded to the 3rd time he hit me in the face, all his mates piled in. Since then I''ve seen him in the barclay at carrow Road and soooo wanted to punch his lights out, but I just know it would be caught on camera and I would be the one who is screwed.

Hmm, yeah I guess so. Thanks. Well I was going through all the possible situations. Like if I stood up to him (as I was in the right), and if he hit me what would I do? Hopefully he''d get arrested, but then I''d have to give a statement and everything else probably, which would take ages and be an annoyance as I just wanted to get back to Norwich (plus the coaches leave sharpish). What annoyed me so much was how he could be like that and get his own way. Because (and I know this sounds arrogant and silly), but he is probably some little chavvy dick who sits at home on the dole, and I should just be mature and rise above it. I just don''t see how you can be that much of an unpleasant human being, so a fellow Norwich fan. It is beyond me how someone could be like that. I really am bemused and was furious at the time. I had to idea what to and it was horrible. However chances are it will never happen again. And sorry to the OP as I kinda ruined your thread as I talked about something non-footie, sort of.

Rest assured that he will get his comeuppance one day if he continues to act with such disregard for other people, and I''m sure he will until that day. You are only sixteen but could well put on a growth-spurt to make you better able to stand up to bullies such as that guy.  I put on 10 inches from the age of sixteen so perhaps he should look out !!
Hmm. Well yeah, I am 5"10, which isn''t that tall, but I have been for like 3 years so I guess I am fully grown. Anyway I wouldn''t realy want to stand up to ayone or cause a scene, just wouldn''t want that sort of thing to exist. This guy wasn''t huge or anything, I just don''t have the testi''s to stand up to anyone really. I just get all scared and a huge rush of adrenaline. I was speechless to the behaviour acted like that. I would love to see him get a real kick in, I really would. As horrible as it sounds, he wound me up that damn much!

And Banana, I could of course bring my own! However I have never thought of drinking too much before a football match, as I do want to remember what happened. I am not dissing drinking, as I do love a drink from time to time. Just at football it could sort of ruin it as you pay good money so want to remember what has happened/function properly?
Getting served is not the issue. Anyone over 18 can buy alcohol and give it to an U18; even though that is against the law as well. That''s how I used to drink when I was U18 and I guess some things don''t change that much.

I know you shouldn''t have to, but could you have moved seats to another part of the stand? It''d be better than sitting next to an idiot who is going to spoil your day out. People like that aren''t worth dealing with.

Brendo they were suggesting having a couple of drinks not get completely wasted.

Also while I wouldn''t condone fighting theres a time to stand up for yourself and I think that was one of them, not talking about anything stupid just telling him where to go, no ones gonna beat the crap out of anyone for refusing to yield there seat to them - thats a non starter, giving him a firm no, besides, if the crowd/stewards see a man in his 20s grappling with a 16 year old boy with a ticket to the seat thats only gonna end up one way.

I had 2 season tickets in the Barclay for the Burnley game this season, cause the person I usually go with couldn''t make it, so my mate (who also had 2 season tickets in the N&P, same story there) came with me and we sat in the Barclay. At half time we thought, because we were shooting the other way, towards the N&P in the second half, we''d go and sit in his seats. So we told the steward on the door what we were going to do, and he let us go happily. Then when we got to the other side to go in, we were promptly told by some stuck up steward that we couldn''t go in, for some inexplicable reason, for which he refused to give. He then proceeded to radio all the other stewards to make sure we didn''t get in. We ended up having to just sit there for the next hour till the game was finished, during which time, the steward wouldn''t even let someone out of the ground to make a phone call, saying he wouldn''t be let back in. I was properly fuming. Probably was a stupid thing to do, but I just can''t see even a decent reason for it, nor could the steward. Stupid.

We had 4 season tickets between us, and we could only watch a half of football. Some stewards like that just make a wrong name for the other 90% who are actually really decent people. Massive joke.

Ironically, considering the 2nd post on this thread, the most annoying thing that happened to me, was some liitle turf telling me that my seat, which it said on my ticket, was his now, and I can go sit somewhere else. Can''t be the same guy though, it sounds nothing like what he said, and although I was with 2 mates, I had another 2 coming up to their seats to join us. We''d gone to a lot of effort to get 5 seats together, considering we got there 2 hours before they did. But this kid said to me, "itself anywhere mate, fuck off". And I said, "I''d like to sit I''m my seat, so jog-on". We were all told by stewards that we couldn''t sit where we wanted, we had to sit in our seats. To be fair, the kid tried to argue, so I showed him my ticket, and stood in front of him. I thought it was a bit out of order that when I said, "excuse me mate, you''re in MY seat", he replied, "it''s sit anywhere mate, find another one". Like I said, couldn''t be the same guy.

Theres always a % of society that are w ankers particularly at fooball matches after a few pints and with their mates to back them up so an easy soft target will get uneccesary hassle!

What goes round comes aound and if you treat people like s hit then you will get your comeuppence one day!

Just to add, I clearly showed the kid my ticket, and I couldnt be less of a chav, so sincerely, can''t be the same guy. Also, he didn''t sit next to me afterwards, he went somewhere else.

mine is slightly different to the seats scenario and goes back to the 80''s.

I had been on the club canary coach to an away game at Grimsby and there had been a little crowd trouble during the game, but nothing to untoward.

When we got back to the coaches the local plod escorted us all the way back to Norfolk, which we all thought was completely ott.

But then it got worse as Norfolk plod took over to escort us all the way to Norwich and the one coach i was in had to turn off at Dereham i think it was and we got our own escort to there and then to Norwich.

It was a mixture of fuming and laughing cause it was all so pathetic

Stand up to the cvnt, if he wants to see the game he won''t kick off. Bully''s are all that until they get some of it back. I am available for personal bodyguard hire by the way.

I had a similar experience, a few years back...I was in the kingsway before a game, really early just as they openend as i knew the landlord (his daughter),and a little while later, with the pub just starting to fill up,a group of lads, who i didnt regconise, and were a few years older came in..after a while, they came amnd sat round me,and 1 said "you got a spare ticket mate?" ..I said no and he said "my mate hasnt missed a match for years and due to being ill.has been in hospital..he is okay now but couldnt get a ticket, tell you what,if i buy you a pint, and give you a fiver, will you help my mate and give him your ticket" ..It was more of you will, than will you!..The ticket price was over twice what he wanted it for,but i wouldnt have sold for over the price..

I stuck to my guns and said a porky"sorry gotta meet my girlfriend in the next seat"

He and his mates started getting heavy when a couple of older lads who were from my brothers time of going, came over and asked me hows my bro doing, this seemed to quiet the other lads down, and they got up and moved on :)

Those ..... who picked on you, will probably only verbally intimated you,and im sure,if they tried to get to heavy with you, someone will see this and either come to your aid,or point it out to someone. If i went to away games mate,i wouldve helped :)
