You wouldn''t be including the "you tell them Olly!" bit would you by any chance?

Anyway, the story is being overblown a little, Platini said it "would be possible" to have a winter world cup, but he also said that USA 1994 was also played in temps up to 45C. So he seems to think that June would still be acceptable.

That''ll be what the problem was then BG&Y [:$]At least he speaks his mind and doesn''t pander to the powers that be. He raises some viable issues about our national fixtures and asks about the air-conditioned stadiums; appears these were part of the package that secured the bid from what he says.Doesn''t it get hotter than 45C in Qatar though? I thought that was one of the big stumbling blocks.

If the World Cup is rescheduled then it''s time that all the nations FA''s told FIFA where to stick it and set up a rival organisation. These clowns are the people that chose 2 poor venues for the World Cup and now they are worried it will be to hot! Did they not know this when they voted? Also giving it to a country with a population of 1.6 million the stadiums that will cost billions to build will be half empty. Love Ian Holloway always speaks his mind is a shame more high profile figures don''t do the same.

You might think that it (the heat and time of year) would have come up in the lengthy vetting/bidding process. Perhaps they missed it off the tick list. Or perhaps they were blinded by the sight of all those lovely dollars floating in front of their eyes.
