Canarydan82 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Leon Barnett given 2 match extra ban after defeat against PortsmouthNelson to carry on?http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2249675,00.html
shefcanary 2,389 Posted December 22, 2010 Harsh, but at least he can really relax over Xmas - hopefully come back all guns blazing.
Boyo 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Thats not too bad. He wil be back for the QPR game which is good. And yeah, Nelson to carry on in his place, I don''t like Nelson but him and Askou are about the same at Championship level and Nelson played last week so he carries on. I would want Barnett to come straight back in though.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,738 Posted December 22, 2010 To be honsest I''m quite relieved that it''s only 2 matches. When it happened all sorts of figures ran through my mind 4 -6 or even 8.We all remember the pathetic theatricals from referee Paul Alcock when he exaggerated Paolo Di Canio''s push on him that led to a 12 match? ban.I think the club might be quietly relieved at this. Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted December 22, 2010 Could have been a lot worse and Nelson will not let the side down

Bill 1,788 Posted December 22, 2010 It should have been a hefty fine, that way the player not the club is penalised for something that was not a game related incident.By that there was no unfair advantage attempting to be gained - no reckless challenge, no last defender bringing down a striker, handball etcBarnett''s actions did not, and could not have, impacted on the game. """""""""Ben """"""""""" 0 Posted December 22, 2010 It was a fair decision no doubt about it. It could have been a lot worse and would have been if Barnett didn''t apologize straight after the game.

Morisons Prozac 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Nelson is a hell of a lot better than Askou Boyo and if he plays like he did against Coventry we won''t have any problems.
CanaryJames 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Nelson is a good defender, and better than Askou by some distance.I had my doubts in his first few weeks here, but since then he''s done very little to suggest he''s anything less than capable.Barnett has been superb since he joined (as has Ward, for the most part) so I''d naturally prefer him in the line-up, but Nelson will provide more than adequate cover for the next two matches. Rupethebear 0 Posted December 22, 2010 Anybody who Lambert picks will do a great job, we have no wasters here anymore!!!
Syteanric 1 Posted December 22, 2010 I honestly thought the FA would go to town and give him a 5 game ban or something stupid... a ban is never good but at least he will be back for QPR
pete 318 Posted December 22, 2010 Lucky boy I was expecting more than 2 matches
William Darby 0 Posted December 22, 2010 I roughly assumed it''d be two, but was expecting a fine as well. So I guess an apology and the admission of his guilt helped matters there.
Mello Yello 2,282 Posted December 22, 2010 Could be worse......we could still have Doherty....playing in his place.
