Yellow Cards

Recommended Posts

We always seem to have a few hanging onto four yellows most of the time.

I''m watching the Brum v Arsenal game and the commentator has mentioned a couple of times that as of today that players have a clean slate.

Is this just a premier league thing or is it all leagues, anyone know?
All leagues, it isn''t really a clean slate though, instead of 5 yellows for a ban they put it up to 10. Then at the end of the season it goes up to 15 (For the play-offs)
so if someone picks up their first yellow card today, they have to wait until their 10th to get a ban?

Oh seems slightly odd.

Another question - what if you go over 10 yellows [:P]

You are suspended for 2 matches. If you were to go over 15 yellows it would be a three game ban and so on. So Blackpool last season had the bizarre situation where during the playoffs if Charlie Adam (who had 14 yellows) had been booked he would have missed three matches. However if he had been sent off for two yellows he would have only missed one match.
