New Year Celebrations

Recommended Posts

Apart from the wonderful result on Tuesday (a game I missed as I was away - boo hoo) for 3 points and a Wes hat-trick [:D] , the postponed game at Palace (at least we didn''t lose on Boxing Day) and a hopeful 3 points on New Year''s Day against QPR, what are City fans getting up to to celebrate the New Year?Me? I''m going to be curled up with a good book and a mug of cocoa [;)]
Bowling and then getting pissed (strictly in that order otherwise it could get messy).  And hopefully fighting fit for the match on Saturday.
I''ve always bowled better when I''ve been pissed.Having quiet night in with the other half and the kids (got a fair bit of Real Ale for Christmas that needs consuming) then off to the Footy tomorrow then going  to see the Christmas Circus in Yarmouth straight after the game (won some free tickets in a raffle).

Family all ill so just me and a bottle of scotch as I suspect they will all be in bed early, will probably raid sky plus and watch The Prodigy at AM ring concert and City beating the Scum both for the umpteenth time then set off a couple of Chinese lanterns at 12.00 just so I feel I have celebrated in some way.

Hope everyone has a great night and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you all!

I''ve also got a poorly family so will be celebrating alone with a few DVDs, a bottle or two of wine, a spot of Football Manager on the laptop, and maybe some late night pornography if I get bored...

Jools Holland and a bottle of bourbon for me WITS.
The bottle of bourbon sounds good '' live '' but I always find it a little depressing that the Jools Holland thingy is filmed the week before Christmas......
I know I know aSms but I''m a sucker for Jools so the bourbon will help lol.
Are you still in Manchester EM? I thought you were moving back over the summer....
I did indeed move back, I''m sat in sunny Queen''s Hills. I just forgot to change my profile location... mostly because I''m in denial about having moved away from my beloved Manchester [:(]

How''s the recovery going?I guess it depends whereabouts in the city you are. I''m in my sitting room enjoying Clive Owen in ''Elizabeth'' with nibbles and bubbly on my lonesome. It could be worse.

Hey CF, thought you were only gonna lat off one or two lanterns. I lost count; never seen so many in the sky. Looked very pretty, especially with the rockets exploding around them. A new experience - new year in a city - very noisy I must say. Sounds like people are having lots of fun.Good night all. Sleep well and here''s to three points later on today to start the new year [<:o)]Pip pip

Happy New Year lads![B]And if you''re in need of some optimism for the year that awaits us...http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/LeagueTable/0,,10432~20100109,00.html

All of last seasons eventual top six

were in the top 7 at about this time last year.

The team in 6th in fact only missed the play-offs by a point...

The omens are good... So very very good. [:D]

Very original WITS!

It was a pants night to say the least, just felt like a Saturday night. I think the people of Yarmouth may have crept up to Norwich for the night.

It also shows that we need to push for it now.  Of the top 8/9 only Forest, Swansea & Cardiff are still there or there abouts while Leicester Sheff Utd & Palace have stagnated or worse - so if we dont carpe diem  we could easily lose momentum in the 11/12 season - its just that sort of league.

Its tight but we have an excellent platform to spring from and I think we have the team to see the job through - good omens indeed.

And a quick flick through those tables shows that we need 76 points to firmly guarantee a play off place (avg points to finish 5th) so we are slighltly ahead of target for that.

Auto promotion is usually about 87 pts - which would mean stepping up to champs winning form of averaging 2 pts a game from now until the season end - possible but tough.

Hopefully today''s performance will lift you.

Best start to the New Year for me, my parents were in Yellows last night and Paul Lambert, Culverhouse and Karsa walked in for a meal. I''ve got their autographs now. So chuffed to get the messiah''s autograph. Hopefully we get the 3 points today to add to the great start!
