H4H 0 Posted January 2, 2011 I cant wait for tomorrow and I really hope City walk awaywith all 3 points. At the same time its going to be an emotional return to theNorth East. I know its frowned upon by some to have a soft spot for otherteams, but Boro were my first love when it came to football. My dad was in theArmy and he joined what’s now called the Yorkshire Regiment. When I was 5/6 wewere living in Yorkshire and the regiment used to recruit from the North East. One of its biggest stomping grounds for recruitment was Ayresome Park, the thenhome of Boro. For those that ever went to watch Norwich vs Boro in the1989-1992 era you may remember the Boro Bugler, this was a guy dressed up infull military band uniform who used to blow his bugle from the dugout everytime Boro were doing well or needed some motivation. Hysterical to think now. The Ball boys were also looked after by 2 soldiersdressed in regimental tracksuits. Anyway, we used to get free tickets to go andwatch the Boro every weekend, and for 2 years we never missed a home game. Ieven remember having a conversation with Dave Stringer at half time during oneof the games, I remember assuring him that even though I was 6 years old and a Middlesbroughsupporter I was actually more of a Norwich fan. With my Mum being a Norfolk girl we always had our rootsback in Norwich so it was never a choice of choosing between the two. As I saidI hope City walk away with all the points tomorrow but I cant wait to get backup to Middlesbrough, just a shame it’s no longer Ayresome Park. Davo 0 Posted January 2, 2011 It hard to say that I actually follow another team but I do have a soft spot for Gillingham. I spent about 4 years living down there and I used to go to the odd game. My soft spot really started when they lost in the playoffs to Man Citeh I really wanted them to win and they came so close. I don''t go to any games these days but I still look out for their results and keep an eye on them from afar. When you look at Flown from the Nest it''s quite remarkable what has gone on between the teams over the years.Davo

dylanisabaddog 4,745 Posted January 2, 2011 Dereham Town for me.Although I''m 20 miles from Dereham I regularly go to see them in midweek or on a Saturday if I''m not going to our away game. It''s well worth the trip - they play great football

Nexus_Canary 1,013 Posted January 2, 2011 Shalke, Aldershot, ArsenalShalke ( Germany) - Family tiesArsenal - half my family still lives in IslingtonAldershot - My uni flat mate was a huge fan IRL and they were his first team when they were still non league. So we all kinda took them on, that and a couple of Footy manager stints and they become an interest for me :-p
Blurboy1980 36 Posted January 2, 2011 Do I follow any other team? Nope not at all. But if another team I look for their results to see how they are doing is Arbroath FC in Scotland cause that is where my mum is from but I do not follow them.
WeAreYellows49 0 Posted January 2, 2011 Only support one team and that is and always has been Norwich City!!However I personally keep a look out for the results of Arsenal, which was my mum''s team when she was alive, and my dads team when he was alive were West Ham. zak123 0 Posted January 2, 2011 I don''t have a full second team. However I do have a couple of teams in the Premier that I like to do well as I have respect for them in one way or another. Those being Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham. I also have an irrational hatred for Stoke.
alysha 0 Posted January 2, 2011
No.One love.
Same, although I keep an eye out for Nottingham Forest as I live there when at university and some of my best mates are season ticket holders
Lewie - Holt Our Saviour 0 Posted January 2, 2011 I''ve always followed a couple teams on sky sports but no where near the same as Norwich.Anyway these are:Man City (mainly because my friends hate them and I alwyas kinda liked them)Spurs, because my mum was born there and again I like some of their players.Wycombe, one of my friends from high school supported them so i''ve always liked them.Cardiff, like their players as standardWerder Bremen, mainly because of Naldo :D

The year they won the Conference I watched them several times on Setanta - to anyone who says non-league football is rubbish, you should have seen them play that season, they were magnificent! There are a lot of other teams that I like, but none I would actually say are a second team. I like to have some kind of vested interest in matches that I watch. I tend to have a team that I have a soft spot for in each major league - Celtic, Ajax, Chievo, Real Betis, Marseille, St Pauli. I like Tottenham and both Manchester clubs, but my main affinity in England is Notts County - I was born in Nottingham, and I was Notts County''s youngest fan until my dad moved to Norfolk for work when I was 4. Apparently Brian Kilcline used to come and say hello to me before every match (not that I remember)!
