Match day pies can be very very random sometimes, morrisions is the best place for pies but don''t leave it late otherwise there will be nothing left as very busy as you can imagine. Best place to drink if you still want the atmosphere but want cheap drinks wetherspoons down riverside is great. Not bad food either. I had the steak and ale pie that was super, not that you needed to know that... yellows in a nice place too just on carrow road as going into stadium but not 100% its away fans. Welcome back Slade, wishing you a great day on Saturday.

Have loads of time for Orient-proper football club, supporters and football people throughout their history-Jimmy Bloomfield, John Jackson, Peter Kitchen, Joe Mayo, Phil Hoadley (played for both clubs), and, of course, the late and very great Laurie Cunningham.

Can''t really add much to whats been said-all good stuff. You''ll find the City has loads to offer in terms of pubs and places to eat, people are friendly, its all quite laid back. I think we''ll put out a team with a few youngsters in it, complemented by a few of the more experienced players-Declan Rudd in goal for example (Eng U16, 17, 19 and 20); maybe someone like Luke Daley will get a run out, ditto Josh Dawkin...Zak Whitbread (ex-Millwall) may get another game, would think Aaron Wilbraham will almost certainly play. Keep an eye on Korey Smith if he plays, he''s a young ''un who, unlike Ryan Jarvis, will go a long way in the game.

Ryan Jarvis, what a disappointment. Don''t think the ability and potential was ever in question, the attitude however-hm, maybe one of those players who believed the hype ahead of its time and, as a result, never pushed on and succeeded. A shame.

Pretty sure Yellow''s welcomes away fans, but you will probably have to book which will be more of a worry than your Orient shirts !
As for "quiet" pubs, Im not to sure if there are any worth going to. The Complete Angler is the "away" pub and thats just over from the station. Best bet is to just go to the Riverside and have some drinks there. Its highly comercialised but there are a lot of bars and pubs down there.
In regards to being an away fan, basically no one will care unless your being obnoxious or an Ipswich fan :-p

Have you been to Riverside recently? There USED to be a number of bars there, but not now. There are only The Queen of the Iceni (formerly called Lloyds) and Old Orleans (can''t remember this bar''s new name) still remaining. Sadly, the three huge bars Squares, Norwegian Blue and Brannigans have all closed.

Don''t think I''ve sat in a queue on there for longer than 30 minutes at worst. The advantage with County Hall is it''s close to the A47 for a quick exit once you''re out on the roads. Perhaps not ideal for someone going to the station afterwards - maybe consider the Riverside multi-storey (that is an ar$e to get out of after the game but if you''re going to the station I guess it doesn''t matter)?

Slade - Closest parking to the railway station/ground are - Lower Clarence Road, operated by RCP (www.rcpparking.com), I believe you can pay online by credit card and Riverside Multi Story operated by NCP, personally I would try to get to Norwich at a decent time and park on Lower Clarence Road.....

Gotta be where I said, Lower Clarence Road where the away fans coaches park overlooks the rail tracks and the ground (a couple of hundred yards from the station).

I went out with a lass from York for a few years some time back, and our first date was watching York City - great little club, loved standing on the terraces watching the likes of Bishop and Panther terrorise the away team, and laughing at the away fans when the heavens opened on their open-air away end.  The highlight was a Boxing Day match against Forest Green, with former Norwich player Zema Abbey clunking around whilst York tore them to pieces and finshed 5-0 winners (with a classy Bishop hat-trick).

 

Its also a great city, with some excellent pubs - we used to frequent the White Swan near Gillygate (sp.) for the football - and some even better restaurants.  I mean no disrespect to the lass I went out with, but one of the things I miss most is visiting that city on a regular basis (she lived just down the road from the Uni).

 

As for Norwich, I''ve only recently moved back here myself and haven''t yet been able to afford a game at Carrow Road this season, so my knowledge of the area is pretty out-of-date, as is my knowledge of pies.

 

I will, however, wish you all the best on Saturday - I''m personally not at all bothered by the FA Cup this season, considering our league run to be much more important, and would expect to see a mixture of reserves, youth talent, and those returning from injury to get a good run-out.  Either way, I''m sure you''ll have a cracking time and whatever the score you''ll more than likely enjoy yourself.

Phil Hoadlet ocassionally helps out a funeral directors in Norwich. It was quite a surprise to see him helping to carry my old mans coffin at his funeral !! Had a chat with him at the cemetery, nice bloke.

[/quote]Would still advise the Royal Mail charity car park - it''s opposite the rip off away supporters coach/car park and you can pat yourself on the back by having done a good deed!
