Holt's dodgy booking

Recommended Posts

There''s a coincidence.

Four yellow cards and the ever naughty Mr Holt has a spat with the ref and gets booked - in the last minutes

Cynics might suggest that someone had decided that it would be better for Mr Holt to miss the Portsmouth game rather than games later on

That presumes that Mr Holt and others knew that he was on four yellows and being booked in the last minutes would not risk a further booking and thus a red.

FIFA - eat your heart out

well it wouldn''t be the first time, he did the same at Paulton last year, together with Lappin.

But the way he plays, he''ll get booked a fair amount and i can''t see any benefit of choosing to miss Pompey at home rather than any other game coming up. More a case its just one of those things that''s bound to happen i think

Yeah, Portsmouth will be a tough game but I would rather him miss that than running the risk of him missing Coventry away. Will be good to see the Jackson/Martin partnership on Saturday with Jackson''s pace being benefitial with Lansbury''s through balls.

He didn''t have a spat with the ref [:)], Derby were awarded a throw in and Holt refused to give them the ball back to take it, he held it behind his back, the Derby player tried to knock it out of his hands and it bounced off into the crowd to waste some more time [:)]

Good to see that you have your eyes on the match angel rather than snuggling up to someone just to stay warm.

I don''t think Holt did that much wrong, it was more the Derby player trying to use the "multi-ball" dry ball and Holt offering him the wet ball that had bounced back to him off the advert boards.

CA, yep that was what actually happened. The point was that Holt instigated it as a challenge to the referee to book him.

Wonder what he would have had to do next if the ref had not booked him for that !
