I''m starting to wonder if the new Prem rule that all clubs have to pick from a squad of 25 has levelled the playing field more than anyone expected?  Very interesting if so.

they seem to have forgotten how to buy new players....Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Malouda, Anelka are all 30+ and they have very few players under 26....

They have the best X1 when all fit, but i don''t think they have the best squad.....(But i do think that the Premiership is much more open now, really even Spurs and Manc have a chance of winning the league this season...)

To say that I am gutted is a massive understatement.  I didn''t see a Sunderland win tonight, I thought at best they would draw, but to win 3-0 at Chelsea, I am lost for words.  

Sunderland were excellent though, not taking anything away from them, they fully deserved the win. 

Chelsea just didn''t turn up at all and perhaps if I thought about it a bit more in depth it was possibly set up for a Chelsea fall.  Sunderland hadn''t beaten them for ages, since before the birth of Christ or something, Chelsea in good form at home and I seem to recall another record set to fall if they lost tonight.  This coupled with the Wilkins factor and perhaps something going on behind the scenes, may have lead to some unrest and perhaps partly to blame for them not really turning up. 

Not that I am looking for excuses, far from it.  I am just annoyed with myself for not picking up on something that perhaps I should have, especially considering the other 2 matches that I so nearly went with Dudelange was postponed due to bad weather and Zenit won 5-0 so the Academy would have got something if I''d gone for these.

Here''s hoping for a Porto win tonight so we''ll finish on another 5 from 6 and I know we don''t do sorry''s, but sincerely sorry guys and gals.

As Hissing Sid rightly said Broadslim, we don''t have apologies. We have a great team of PUPs now and all of them give their very best selections each week. Strangely that probably makes the final selections even more difficult to sort because there''s so many great picks to choose from every week. Very often it''s just one freak result that does for us, as it did for you this week. That''s why it''s so hard to get six and why we only win a few times each season. But we will win again soon and when we do the win will be for you and for all the others who have been beaten in these circumstances.

Between us 34 games were selected for Broadslim’s consideration of which 18 won making a strike rate of 53%. Both these figures were well down on last week. Norfolkbroadslim returned us 5/6 which was 83% showing just how well he did from the choices we gave him. I hope you still enjoyed your week in charge despite the disappointment Richard.

The day we can foretell every result correctly would be a very sad and boring day indeed. Apologies for the absence folks, I''ve been at the old mans for a couple of weeks and needed to get away from the wife - dad is recovering from hip replacement surgery so I''ve been there to help with chores such as cooking and walking the dog plus help him down copious amounts of malt - you can''t keep a good man down and half way through the second week he insisted on walking to the bookies in town - I walked with him - took nigh on forty minutes to cover what I''d usually stroll in ten minutes ffs - he told me to go f*ck myself when I suggested he might do well to consider getting a mobility scooter - reckons he''d rather crawl than be seen on one - I have complete empathy with him on that score.
