Recommended Posts

As we all know the last time we played these Northern lot, there was alot of trouble before and after the game, Now Leeds will be out for revenge on sat, Now if you lot think Norfolk Constabulary will be interested in arresting these lot, you have another thing coming, because our Bobbys will be more on the look out for Norwich Chavs singing and chanting, why have the hassle in dealing with fans hundreds of miles away.. more paper work, more work!!

So arresting someone in Norwich for an offence committed in Norwich and charging them to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court means more paperwork if they give a West Yorkshire address. How do you work that one out Zema?

If I could interrupt it is simple maths surely

Norwich, Norfolk = 14 letters

Leeds, West Yorkshire = 18 letters

Now admittedly some Norfolk villages have longer names but surely all hooligans come from the cities?

Retreats back to his corner and waits for the outcry!!

PS Zema why another thread on Leeds fans you''ll only upset someone like Morty.

there fans are the s c u m of the earth. to be honest, i think norfolk police arent used to dealing with such large public order problems like leeds.

ipswich is easy - they are escorted as one group from the station..... leeds arent, they can go where they want when they want and you just wait - trouble around pow road and riverside sadly is inevitable. they will be in the city early in the pubs. if we win in the 89th minute one word will sum it up after the game.....carnage.

Really don''t know why some people are so concerned about Leeds fans, went to the game last year and the only thing that seemed any different to me was that I could hear the gobby northerners singing when I parked my car in Thorpe Hamlet. I only saw a couple of them after the game and even though one of them was a shaven headed thuggish looking guy they never said a word. I think much of the problem is down to the fact that far to many of our supporters are the geeky spotty teenager types who give it all the mouth from the lower barclay to the away fans but aren''t man enough to stand up to any away fans who take offence at what they say and hunt them down after the game.Having said that it''s obvious that Leeds fans are no angels and some people did have problems with them last year which is wrong especially the women and kids who were alledgedly targeted. I hope for their sakes there is a larger police presence this year.

These comments are pure slander.

If you recall not a single leeds supporter got arrested last season as opposed to loads of norwich

thus proving beyond doubt that leeds fans are not scumbags and in fact Norwich fans are looney hoolies that cause trouble everywhere

they go.  I mean it is only this week just gone that a young girl was accused of coining poor millwall fans at a train station. Shocking!

I rest my case, Your Honour

There was a bit of trouble, some Leeds fans spitting at children etc.It would be nice to see our own fans stick up for our own, is the only point i''d like to make.

FFS, some of our fans really need to let go of mothers apron strings. This may pain some people but Norwich have, always have had, and will always have its unsavoury. Last seasons fixture between the two saw a nasty lot of "faces" from Norwich, i witnessed them when i walked down P.O.Ws before the game with my son [yes he knows many of them as i''m sure you already know, and no, he doesnt get involved anymore]. Many City "lads" have since been banned i believe. These little oinks in the lower Barclay, dressed in wigs and morph suits are very naive if they think that thugs don''t exsist at football still. Its unfortunate, but its always been the case, and i fear always will be, especially when the sky money bubble bursts and the Working class reclaim their seats or better still, their standing place.

I sort of agree with Arthur''s sentiments here. Considering all the crap spouted on here about wanting to dispell that nice old Norwich tag - hiding behind the old bill and telling them how horrible those nasty Leeds fans are doesn''t sit well with that image. Jesus H Christ, in the 70''s and 80''s you took your chance among the many visiting hooligans to Carrow Road. Don''t build this Leeds visit up into something it ain''t.

oh yes the 70''s and 80''s..they were great weren''t they?

going to football to get penned in iron cages. getting sharpened coins thrown at you, bottles of p i s s thrown over you. If you managed to watch the football without get pushed, shoved getting hot drinks or beer spilt all over you, getting fag burns on your clothes, then leaving the ground runing through barrage''s of abuse. if you lost your friends you''d get a hiding from a random band of oppo fans, thats if you couldn''t run like the wind.

Fantastic those 70''s and 80''s .........

And if anyone thinks these dirty leeds fans weren''t any trouble then where were you hiding? It''s all very well for these City ''ard guys'' who hang around in crowds but for the fathers with kids and the women who all got abused and shoved and spat on, it was a very unpleasent experience and not a City ''ard bloke'' around.....maybe they were at home watching videos of the wonderful 70''s and 80''s

I never said the 70''s and 80''s were fantastic. You have just backed up my point that the "trouble" the Leeds fans "caused" on their last visit was nothing compared to the grief that was given back then.

My issue was with the OP and why he thought the Leeds fans would be out for revenge.

Most of the threads on here about leeds fans just make our fans look like a bunch of pathetic, wet behind the ears wimps. Asking for extra police, stewarding and for them all to be held in after the game. Ok they have more than their fair share of nutters and are more aggresive than most sets of fans but this is football for gods sake. Its always happend and it always will. Instead of whinging and moaning about it lets give them a stuffing on the pitch and they are being obnoxious off it then stick together and don''t let you fellow fans gets bullied by groups of leeds lads if you see it happening.

One of my favourite moments following Norwich in recent years was when some Wolves fans walked in to the Coach and the whole pub stuck together and made it clear they were not welcome in our pub given the way their fans had behaved towards ours on visits to Molineux in previous years. The look on their face was priceless as they were forced to turn around and walk away with their tail between their legs. A bit more of that sort of spirit would not go amiss rather than whining like a bunch of girls and building up this visit of Leeds into something akin to world war three. There may be a bit of trouble but it won''t be anything like people are making out.

I dispair! I really do. Why bother with the football at all, just wait by the Railway Station and kick the s**t out of anyone with a northern accent? Does it make you a ''man'' to front up to football hooligans? Or make you ''tough'' to punch an oppo fan? This IS football for god sake and it would do some of you no harm to take a look at the results of this type of mentality.

I want to be able to go to a football match with my kids and grandkids without some overblown thug wanting to punch, spit or kick out at me just because we scored one more goal than them. I don''t want to rely on some bunch of norfolk ''ard'' men to be there when I need them. Mainly because they never are there when you need them!

All this talk about City fans being wimps, sorry to say that the majority are kids, fathers, mothers or grand parents (and thats about the same at every ground btw) If you want a return to the 70''s/80''s Then you weren''t there, people died ffs died! if thats football then you are welcome to it.

The vast majority of ALL football fans are ok, they are just normal people who go with there kids/ grandkids and enjoy the banter and the football. At every club (some more than others admittedly) there is a very smal section that really believe their own publicity and think they are the ''gunslingers'' of their club when the truth is they are just pathetic idiots who have nothing much else in their lives....except their ego''s.

believe me,

i have a few mates who work on the doors at mercy, pulse and the murderers, and a couple have said that there will be a large presence of Norwich nut cases in and around POW road looking for trouble....

After last season i hope it doesn''t happen but it would be good to see some of t055ers get a slap.

Im gutted i cant make it, should be a awesome atmosphere at fortress Carrow Road

I''m not saying I want to kick the ssh*t out of anyone. All I was saying si that if people see other Norwich fans being bullied then we should all stick together and stand up to them.

My main point though is that people are building this up into something its not. There is no more likely to be trouble on saturday then a number of other games we will play this season and you don''t see the kind of bleating there has been on here before those games.

I`m sorry but this is a pretty stupid post.  The idea of sticking together and sticking up for your fellow fan if they are being bullied/assaulted (as Jim is basically suggesting) is the polar opposite of waiting "by the station and kick the sh*t out of anyone with a northern accent".  As was clearly seen by the same fixture last season you can`t rely on the police to be everywhere to clamp down on the idiots.

I was among a group who once stood up to about 8 Sheff.Utd skinheads verbally and physically abusing a lone black Norwich fan.  Does that make me a thug in your eyes?  What would you have done in that situation?

Doesn''t make you a thug just makes me more careful what I post to you in the future.............

I don''t get this. Are there really any City fans who''d turn their backs on a fan in trouble? Being part of the green & yellow army doesn''t mean you want to fight but it does mean we stand together.

Last seasons home game against Leeds felt like I had been transported back to the late 70''s early 80''s, an era when crowds plummted because odf the hooliganism!

Not a pleasant atmosphere and the stewards and police were completed unprepared for it!

If some of these Leeds animals get into a spot of bother with likeminded persons from Norwich then fair enough but when they were abusing, gobing on, stiking people not looking for trouble. Thats what was very wrong last season.

As long as the police and stewards are better prepared this time and stop Leeds fans from getting at fans not looking for trouble then hopefully things will be OK?

Priceless, Its a football match! Of course I would stand up to be counted if put in that situation and I have intervened before in non football events.

But It''s that situation I am talking about. I was as critical as anyone regarding the policing at the Leeds game last season. But if keeping safe is down to vigilatee''s then we are in real trouble.

While this is my club and one I have supported since childhood, It''s still only a game of bloody football and thats where all logic is lost. Football is most a safe place to be nowadays and long may it continue. If it stops becoming safe then thats when crowds drop ala 70''s/80''s.

I really am surprised at the comments of some posters regarding the situation re violence and Leeds fans.

Those same posters have stated how they like to take family including grand children to games

How the family ethos at Carrow road is one to be praised and yet...

What happens to those same family, children and grand children, whilst Dad or (heaven forbid) grand dad starts wading in?

I certainly have never been a shrinking violet but do I really want to start reliving that part of the 60’s/70’s again. No thanks.

If a bunch of supposed hard men from either side want to “prove “ themselves then find a piece of waste ground, lock them in together, then go back and arrest those left standing!!

Then the rest of us can go and enjoy what we have paid good money for without worrying about what may happen to our kids.
