Robert N. LiM 4,342 Posted October 3, 2010 Still not sure why Sven''s England tenure gets such a bad press. Under him, nervy qualification became a thing of the past - we sailed through our groups. And three quarter-finals out of three, despite injuries to our best player at both World Cups. Compare that to the two managers before him and the two after and it doesn''t look too bad, does it?He''s clearly an idiot, but he''s not a bad football manager. I wouldn''t want him here though. During his time at the FA he discovered that you can buy things with money and hasn''t really looked committed to a club or country since.

But one particular reason why Eriksson got such a bad press in some quarters was the Jeff Powell faction, which never forgave Sven for not being Terry Venables. TheFanMan 0 Posted October 3, 2010 It''s hard to look beyond Gordon Strachan. Although I also think Darren Ferguson could be in rouble
