There was some consolation for Michael Theoklitos after the Brisbane Roar

goalkeeper''s season clean sheet was sullied by his former A-League club

Melbourne Victory.

Theoklitos, 29, had not conceded a goal in the Roar''s first four A-League

games - but it all went pear shaped for the gloveman as the Victory ran amok 3-0

on Sunday.

However, Theoklitos may be comforted somewhat by the fact that he established

a new all-time Australian national league record before the Victory found their

range.

Theoklitos set a new mark for longest time without conceding a goal in the

national league - a total of 876 minutes in all, or 14 hours and 36 minutes -

before Tom Pondeljak''s 51st minute opener for the Victory.

It easily eclipsed the previous Australian record of 790 minutes set by

Heidelberg''s Jeff Olver way back in 1984.

Next best is former Socceroo Yakka Banovic''s 693 minutes while playing for

Melbourne Croatia in 1986.

The dual premiership winner with Melbourne quit the national league at the

end of the 2008-09 season to move to the UK.

But his stint with Norwich came to an abrupt halt when he conceded seven

goals in a home debut to remember - for all the wrong reasons.

He was lured back to the A-League this season by Roar coach Ange Postecoglou,

helping Brisbane cruise through the first four rounds undefeated - two wins and

two draws - before the debacle against his old club at AAMI Park.

Despite the shattering loss, the Roar are just out of the top four on

percentage, and have a game in hand.

But another huge test awaits Theoklitos - the Roar host unbeaten ladder

leaders Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
