Re: BREAKING NEWS: PAUL LAMBERT HAS BEEN PLACED ON GARDENING LEAVE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

Recommended Posts

You can never say never, strange things do happen in football but it would be a rather odd step all round, particularly for Lambo, for whom Celtic didn''t turn his head so why would Saints?

And explains why Martin O''Neill has gone from 12-1 to 4-1 on Skybet this evening.

Quite frankly O''Neill is a more proven and attractive appointment IMHO. Especially with his Premiership contacts and the money he will have at his disposal.

For the Saints job, that is.
The problem with that is O''Neill doesn''t want to manage in the lower leagues again at this stage in his career, one of the many reasons Southampton have recruited a realistic target in Paul Lambert.

I''d expect all parties concerned will hold press conferences early tomorrow morning and the story to be on SSN for Breakfast.

So down in Southampton, your ''robust'' source have given you inside knowledge that not only both clubs have opened up negotiations but they also know who Norwich are going to go for as the next manager.

I presume that you have found out about this info off of another forum, any chance of saying which one?
Jas, are you really suggesting that Southampton is a smaller club than Norwich?
Since both clubs were relegated from the Premier League, look at what has happened:

Attendances - Norwich attendances have been 3196 higher (about 15% higher than Southampton)

Average Position - Norwich have, on average, finished 1 place higher (Norwich average 17th in Championship, Southampton 18)

Current Position - Norwich in a higher league (35 places ahead of Southampton)

Honours - League title for Norwich, Football League trophy for Southampton

Finances - Norwich in debt, Southampton gone through administration

Can you tell me which of these point at Southampton being a bigger club?
