Destort 0 Posted August 16, 2010 I think they are just referring to the general record of the game and not an actual ''achievement'' as such.

Nobby 2 Posted August 16, 2010 Amusingly, one the BBC site, Lappin didn''t come on until after the goal. Good effort to provide an assist while not playing.

Binky 0 Posted August 17, 2010
In the Pinkun''s interview with Surman it says that it was Lappin who made the record books but didn''t specify what. Does anyone know?
Lappin will be credited with the "assist" - so far there are half a dozen players all with 1 assist each. Early days of course but it does suggest goals may come about through a variety of players. Lappin might have had another v. Gillingham - Johnson nearly scored from his long ball near the end - but Martin (rightly) nicked in and took it off Johnson''s feet. (According to the official site no-one seems to have been credited with an assist for that goal).Last year Lappin, who could not score a goal, was nevertheless joint second with Grant Holt as provider at the end of the season with 11 assists each. Hoolahan was top with 16.
