Norwich vs Swansea: Match Preview

Recommended Posts

NORWICH CITY vs SWANSEA CITY on 21/8/10, BST 15:00 Tomorrow''s match brings Norwich City and Swansea City together in the Npower Championship.Swansea City: The Swans, like the Canaries, have started their season with an opening day defeat, followed by a victory. Brendan Rogers'' team will be brimming with confidence coming into Saturday''s clash at Carrow Road, after they demolished Preston 4-0 last Saturday. The last time the Swans recorded such a big win was the 4-0 victory over Doncaster in January 2008, when they were still plying their trade in Npower League One. Swansea are very much an attacking unit, so that coupled with Norwich''s somewhat leaky defence they will be confident of getting something out of the game tomorrow. Key Player: Darren Pratley. The London-born midfielder was instrumental in everything successful for the club last season, guiding them to within 1 point off play-offs. Pratley''s good season attracted interest from many clubs, most namely Nottingham Forest who at one point were very close to capturing his signature. The Canaries will have to be aware of his defensive and attacking prowess if they wish to get something out of tomorrow''s match up. Swansea however, are not a one man team and Norwich will have to watch out for the likes of Cotterill, summer-signing Scott Sinclair, and defender Angel Rangel who recently attracted interest from Premiership club, Blackpool.Season Form: LWW. Swansea started their campaign with an unconvincing 2-0 defeat at Hull, but they bounced back nicely with a 3-0 victory over Burton in the Carling Cup and the 4-0 thrashing of Preston just four days later.  The Swans will be hoping to make it three straight wins in all competitions, and as will the Canaries who have achieved the same record so far. One thing though that is for certain, is that there should be a few goals tomorrow as both teams have already scored a few and leaked a few. Predicted line-up:De VriesRangelMonkWilliamsTateSinclairGowerPratleyCoterillDyerDobbieNorwich City: Much like the Swans, Norwich will go into tomorrows match fully confident of picking up a victory in front of their home faithful. A morale boosting victory over Gillingham in the Cup and a more recent win away at Scunthorpe should leave the Canaries in good stead. With the trio of Holt, Hoolahan and Martin goals are never far away for Norwich, and they will be looking to add to their goal tally of 3 so far.Key Player: Andrew Crofts. Summer-signing from Brighton Andrew Crofts has already produced 2 man of the match performances out of his 2 games for the club. Tomorrow will probably bring his biggest test though, going head to head against Swansea''s Key Player Darren Pratley. If he does manage to keep Pratley at bay, then he would have had to have produced another top performance in the yellow and green.Predicted line-up:RuddyR.
At the time they were playing their trade in the coca cola league 1 [y]
Don''t try and be clever by changing ''plying'' to ''playing''...I put plying for a reason you idiot!

Very good preview.  Pratley is definately the man we have to keep quiet tomorrow, stop him and you stop their engine.  I think their midfield will dominate ours so I am a little beit nervous as to whether we will be able to cope.  I''m sure we will score though in front of our own fans though but it''s keeping the door shut at the back that is the problem.

Should probably be a quite exciting game and my prediction is 2-1 to Norwich.

Nice preview and a decent read, much better than the bloody BBC preview who seem to think we got a draw last weekend and also seem to think nobody has been booked for us lol

As for Banana, don''t react to him mate, you gave him a nice juicy worm when you said "P.S Please remember I am only 13 so not so much abuse this time please"... and he has bitten... :)

You could call it Match Preview/Thread and then people who can''t get to the game could use it to chat about the game.
