Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted August 24, 2010 You play your squad players who will either have a good game and give you more options or else cool their heels by their proving they are not ready or good enough. You protect your number one goalkeeper who has just had a massive confidence boost and give experience to his back up.You give a good run out to Francomb and let him gain valuable experience. Meanwhile you rest the vital Drury. You give more match fitness to Ward and Askou and have a look at a new partnership prior to them possibly having to play together at the weekend. You experiment with Russel Martin on the left and find out what he can do there if needs be.You give that game time to more of your midfielders and top up their fitness. You see how Holt plays with Jackson and top up Holts match fitness. You know you have a decent squad and you only conceed goals when you change the formation and go for it. You prove to yourself once again how vital Chris Martin, Andrew Crofts and in particular Korey Smith is.You go out of a pointless cup game with no apparent injuries and avoiding extra time to Premier League opposition and in the meantime stand up to the sort of team Norwich traditionally do poorly against. All in all, I''m happy and once again Paul Lambert has got a lot out of a nothing game. What a manager! He lost in the competition but won in so many useful ways as Norwich City manager.

I am a Banana 0 Posted August 24, 2010 Yeah its very good to give more players a game, but I think we could have given them a real game if we played our full strength team.

The one sarcastically mocking Lambert, delivered by Mr Sarcastic himself (AKA. Mr Chops)?Whatever may be the case, you''re mind-bogglingly in possession of the kind of wit unbeknown to this board, be you taking sarcasm to a whole new level or so daft that you''d climb over a glass wall to see what was on the other side. Sad as it is, given City''s history in the competition, I don''t feel it will be around much longer...
