best away day!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

2-0 at Poorman Rd in the promotion season...''Top of the league at Portman Rd''.

And 2-1 win at Forest couple of seasons ago, a Saturday evening game. Think we got an own goal and Pattison scored the other?!

2 of the best away day atmospheres i''ve experienced!

[/quote]Yeah that was a good one. Doc got sent off, and it was a minus temperature I believe. Absolutely freezing. [:|]

I think in the second half we barely had a shot on goal, so they scored a goal for us. [:)] Was a good day, my first away game win (which was about my 11th away game [:$])

For me, top of the league at Portman Road in the promotion season, the boxing day away match at Notts Forest where we announced the signing of Hucks and Svensson scored a late winner to top it off and the Arsenal game at the start of the 1992-1993 season. What a game that was.

would both be in the promotion season of 1986 - Bradford at the rugby ground where promotion was clinched and Grimsby where we went as champions and the police were terrified and caused their own problems as we got a police escort right back to Norwich

besteither Leeds @ Bellend Road season after we got relegated from the Prem, finished 2-2, they equalised in the 89, free kick was devo''d but great atmos at their place.Charlton Away last season was pretty special, just the release that we had done it first time of asking.... extra special that it was at the ground we got relegated the year before.Walsall season we won the League, best football i have ever seen us play, we were stupidly good that day.... I was dressed as picacho!!!worstBramel Lane lost 2-1 Steen scored a rip snorter, Zemma Abbey got strechered off and never played for us again.Coventry two season ago The Ricoh is a morgue of a stadiam, plus we got robbed after playing the better football.WBA away under Duffy..... Worst football iv ever seen from Norwich it could of been 9 or 10

Huddersfield away last season was pretty special.

Bradford away the season we got done at the Millenium, McVeigh scored really late to keep us in the playoff hunt

and of course the Millenium, so sweet then so bitter!

Only really started going to away games after relegation from premier league in 2005 so until last year havnt really had too many good ones if im honestBest one I have probably been to is yeovil last season. I know we diddnt win but still it was a good day and a great game and went mental when doc equalised at the end. Other good ones were obviously charlton last season while cardiff away when evans scored that screamer and beating luton 3-2 a few years back with a last minute lappin goal were pretty specialTop of my list for worst ones would have to be charlton when we got relegated. Although I have been to many, many crap away games. Wolves and QPR towards the end of Peter Grants reign were pretty dire

I have to say there are some very odd choices on here.

Stockport away in the petrol crisis for me, the roads were like a scene out of 28 days later and we even found a garage that had petrol on the M40, so stocked up on the way up and on the way back! A 2-1 away win in front of about 200 Norwich fans!

Worst - Easy = Fulham 2004/05. I was on my heels when the sixth went in, but heard a rumour the team got a standing ovation at the final whistle.

Odd lot our fans sometimes.

Having seen so many away games over the years they all seem to blend into each other.Going up by football special train from Norwich - three quarters full of Norfolk Reds - to see us draw at Old Trafford in the League in 1975 and by mini-bus from London via Blackpool to do the same two years later. Seeing us win at Anfield in the 70''s was pretty good too. There''s been some great days more recently, particularly in the 2004/5 promotion season. One that stands out was Watford away. A win, superb atmosphere, lots to drink. Also ended up in the ladies toilet and giving Delia a drunken bear-hug.( No, not in the toilet......that was outside the ground )

Sheff Wednesday away, when we took about 6,000 fans... Huckerby, Dion and Ched played their last games for us... Atmosphere was amazing. Everyone at the start of the game singing stand up if you''re staying up, Sheff Wed stood up aswell.. Then Hucks scored and they didn''t stand up when we sang it again! Butttt, then we went on to lose 4-1 and they did stay up, but that''s fine [:P] was a good day.Huddersfield away last season, and col who. Couldn''t go to Charlton, gutted. [:(]Also scum away in the promotion season. Lots of good memories, hopefully more to come this season starting with Forest on saturday!

In no particular order:Bayern Munich ''93/94 2-1.   Gossy, Bowen etc....the rest is history.Arsenal ''92/93 4-2.    0-2 down at HT to the champions. Robins comes on to make his debut and we score 4 2nd half.Leeds ''92/93 4-0.   Gossy''s "Van Basten" goal of the season.Scum ''03/04 2-1. "Top of the League at Portaloo Rd"Chelsea ''92/93  3-2.  Beasant''s howlersWycombe ''93/94  2-0. FA Cup 3rd round. Sutton scored both goals. Went with a group in a minibus and stopped in Baldock for a beer on the way home. 10 mins later City coach pulled up and Walker brought the whole team in for a beer while Tim Shepherd went to the chippy next door. Had a great time celebrating with Fox, Sutton, Bowen, etc. Within a couple of  months, Walker had gone to Everton and the team was broken up.Blackburn ''92/93 1-7.  We went there top of the Premier League. It was chucking down with rain while we were all on the old crumbling terrace watching the goals go in from Sutton & Co.. When it got to 5 someone started a conga and by 6 + 7 we were even cheering the goals in. Bizarre but it was a great laugh.Huddersfield ''09/10  3-1. Took my 6 yr old to her first away game. Feared the worst when we were battered for 1st half and went 1-0 down. Then 2nd half Holt dragged us back into it and we went on to win comfortably. My daughter loved the atmosphere with 3000 Norwich and she''s now hooked.Man Utd  ''88/89  2-0.  Bit hazy on this one but I remember seeing us beat Utd at OT with Drinkell scoring the winner.Liverpool  ''88/89 1-0.  Not sure who scored now but I couldnt celebrate as I was with a Scouse mate in the Kop that day. He knew about it all weekend though!

A random one but Wimbledon away in 2003/2004 was very memorable. Freezing cold early February day, Hucks scored that cracking volley with his blond mullet at it''s biggest, crap stadium, knew we''d never ever play their again which made it so unique.
Also managed to wrangle press seats and sat next to a bloke whose son-in-law was playing for Wimbledon, I think his name was Mark Williams.
He asked me if I knew the Page 3 model Leilani, I told him she had a nice pair of tits.
He then told me he was her father!

another that springs to my mind, not as best day but for the memory is the 92 FA cup semi final v Sunderland at Hillsborough.

To be the first semi there after the Liverpool tradgedy was very moving, more so as we were in the same end.

When the whole ground before the game sung Abide With Me and you''ll never walk alone was one of the most moving things i have ever witnessed.

More so when those who were at Villa Park the same day as the Hillsborough tradgedy will tell you it brings everything into perspective

That semi-final against Everton @ Villa Park was great to start with but as the news filtered through things got more & more subdued...remember getting the train back to New Street and people with their radios passing on the terrible news....easily my worst ever away day...
