Malky Mackay poured sweat and blood into a City shirt for almost seven years and played a major role in our Championship winning season. He only has warm and respectful things to say about this club and has rightfully earned our respect.

While I don''t agree with the OP I do feel all this Malky adulation while the game was going on was tiresome. In the LB Block E Malky chants were started time after time during the first half before Watford scored. More chants were directed at Malky than were at Lambert. Then some of the numpties assumed that Malky "loves us more than Watford". While this was going on Malky was doing a very good job of motivating the team he supposedly doesn''t love to beat us. Obvious to everyone that he was doing everything he could in his tech area to ensure we lost. By all means give him a good reception before and after the game. He was after all a very committed player for us during his time here. But during the game??? Why????

And while I''m here all this stuff about Norwich releasing Malky is a load of old pony. Nigel Worthington told Malky he couldn''t guarantee him a first team place so Malky engineered himself a tranfer to West Ham. The fee was around £300,000. All credit to malky for doing this, too many footballers are happy to draw the money in the reserves or on the bench. It was West Ham who released him a year later when he joined Watford on a free for the same reasons. Malky, to his eternal credit, probably prolonged his career by many many games by making these moves.
