Stephen Fry (press conference 5.30pm)

Recommended Posts

I''m glad no-one''s bothered by Mr Fry''s outspoken atheism.

Stephen Fry is a man I admire for many reasons and I''m delighted he is in an involved, high profile position with the club.

However I''m more concerned about the reputation of Norwich City dragging down Stephen''s.  Wouldn''t like to think Ipswich fans are boycotting QI...
Do you really think that you average scummer has a.) the intelligence and b.) the attention spam to watch QI
LOL.

Im sure they will come up with some crap song about him being gay.

Wonder if the FA would clamp down on that like they did when Sol Campbell was given gay abuse, or was that because he was a premiership player?

I likeStephen a lot, a reall City fan and all round good old Norfolk bor, but, I see this appointment as nothing more than flim flam and an ally for Delia in the boardroom vote.

It won''t bring in one top player for the club imo.
Surely we''ve a greater chance of getting finance in to buy players with him rather than without?
In truth I don''t know mate,

I''m undecided as to just what real benefit this will bring to the club. He''s a really busy man and not in the country that often, shouldn''t a director ALWAYS be available?

Of course I wish him well.

I wonder who''s idea or suggestion it was, to have Mr Fry as a Director?.....

Did he put himself forward - or was he approached?.....

Was it Keith Harris?  Y''know, the bloke who''s supposedly seeking investment for the club.....Is he still doing it?.....

Or, was it Stephen''s good friend Delia''s suggestion? She''s one of our majority-shareholders you know.....

Why now? Why not sooner?.....Like 2 years ago when we played Spurs in the pre-season friendly? When Stephen was sat next to our saviour for the game.

Just haven''t seen our Stephen at Carra very much since then....Maybe, he''s just not as busy as he was?

Anyway Stephen, you may be another celebrideeeeeeee at Carra.....But, it''s still Delia''s Kingdom....

Don''t forget to put your hand up and say ''Aye'' when she gives you the prompt....

Who''s on the board now, Delia, Micky WJ, Micky F, Stephen F....including Mr B, Mr Mac and the 70s Porn-star Moustache-man.

All pulling in the same direction - and now doing what''s best for the club.....Superb.

Just think if ''Canary Fan'' Ed Balls wins the nomination for the Labour Party leadership.....and becomes Prime-Minister!

We''d be on a roll!

Has yummy mummy Myleene Klass got a few bob?....Maybe Jake F1 Humphrey has got a wad?.....

Sky Presenter Simon Thomas, what''s he worth?

Any other celebrideeeees?

Get ''em in!
It goes without saying some clubs that find investment end up being either no better off or a damn site worse of than before but there are also other clubs that have secured investment and gone from strength to strength,  Stoke wouldn''t have got anywhere near the prem without Mr Coates millions and Fulham would still be in league one without Al Fayeds cash backing them up. Marcus Evans hasn''t exactly been a bad thing for the scum up to now either, they have agreed a fee of 750k for Scotland and have reportedly had a 3 million quid bid for Chopra rejected.  They''re problem is that they have a manager who doesn''t spend the money very wisely but Evans certainly doesn''t seem to mind putting his hand in his pocket when necassary.
And of course Norwich wouldn''t be where they are now without Delia Smith''s millions. But those millions aren''t enough, especially if they are wasted by inept football managers and players. Stoke and Fulham are two clubs out of 92 but the sums involved are far more than Delia Smith has. Al Fayed and Coates are two of the richest men in England. However they are not rich enough to take their clubs anywhere near the top of the Premier League and that should set alarm bells ringing but of course it doesn''t. The top clubs have some of the richest men in the world owning them and yet are in enormous debt. Even that doesn''t set alarm bells ringing for some. In fact some of the dimwits on this forum can''t understand why this club can''t get anywhere near the heights we attained under Big Bob in the 90''s. It all has to be down to the cook who has just been joined by a gay icon[:O]

But it''s your last statement that really interests me. Would you seriously trade what we have now with Delia for what the binners have with the invisible man?
If I''m being brutally honest even though I think Delia has had her day I wouldn''t want Evans to replace her mainly because I don''t really know much about him but it cannot be argued that he has made some serious money avaliable to spend on players and with a half decent manager they would most likely have done much better with the funds they have had avaliable over the last couple of years. No problem with Fry joining the board and we can only hope he has the right contacts to find us some much needed investment.

That is something I am neither proud about, or shout about, and try to forget it. As much as I try, it will always resurface.

Bloody sky and Man City. Game should never have been televised.[;)]

The Hippopotamus is better than The Liar, in my far from humble opinion. It contains The Disgusting Scene: ask anyone who''s read it and they''ll know what you mean...

Am delighted to have him on board. Will be at his evening at Carrow Road, and would merrily give a few bob to the club if Mr Fry promised to turn up to every game he attended dressed as General Melchet. One of the greatest tv comedy characters for years.

"I wouldn''t lick a German if he was glazed in honey"

Yes, three weeks to smoke the bugger out. Use any method you see fit. Personally, I''d recommend you get a hold of a cocker spaniel, tie your suspect down on a chair with a potty on his head, then pop his todger between two floury buns and shout "Dinner time, Fido!"

Welcome on board Mr Fry. You can keep twitter its the Pink Un message board where you should be now....

The club are stressing his ambassadorial/cheerleading role
So will he be leading the cheerleaders dancing at Carrow Rd during half time?
No.  He might however raise the club''s profile, which leads to a greater likelihood of investment/a change of ownership.
So he''s a passionate fan (like the other 25000+) and has lots of contacts. Well he had these without being a director and has he influenced anyone to invest? I really can''t see the point of this appointment other than to boost Delia''s ego and the number of her supporters on the board.
Was that the sound of a hammer hitting a nail squarely on the head.[;)]
Agreed.
