 we would have got forster for free on loan, and still had the cash to get jackson. Or did the club pay newcastle to loan him?!

[/quote]I think we were completely priced out of even a loan move for Fraser. If you look back a few weeks, there was a quote from McNally (or Bowkett) stating that his loan fee was more than the combined fee we''d paid for something like 3 of our new signings. I would have loved to have seen him back here but, as has been mentioned countless times before, he would have never been "our" keeper. At least we have a decent prospect in Ruddy who actually belongs to us, has the stature and is of a young age. Plenty of time to progress with us, or be sold on for a bigger fee than we paid out. Good bit of business in my book. [:D]

People going over the top in someone comparing Surman to Russell. Fair enough, they are not the same player or same position exactly...I think the point being made was the money saved from offering Russell a contract could have contributed to our purchase of Surman.

I think our midfield could be very competitive this year.
