wilw6 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Hopeless manager at Carrow Road. Coach at WBA when they got relegated. Coach at Celtic last season, appointed around June, sacked by March. Watch Birmingham nosedive...
First Wizard 0 Posted July 15, 2010 As a coach, Peter is one of the best, West Ham, Celtic and now Brum know this..............only you don''t.
ricky knight 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Wish the guy luck at least he walked away not like others, Anyway he seems well respected as a coach.

Willmeister 35 Posted July 15, 2010
As a coach, Peter is one of the best, West Ham, Celtic and now Brum know this..............only you don''t.
I think Granty realised he was out of his depth as a manger and let us not forget that he walked with his dignity in place when he realsied he couldn''t cut it. As a coach he is first class, just ask any West Ham fan.
ncfc4life 0 Posted July 15, 2010 I personally have a lot of respect for him due to the fact as other people say he was man enough to admit he wasnt up to the job and resigned. Gunny was in the same boat yet he carried on. Worthy should have quit ages before they finally got rid of him while thankfully we diddnt wait long to give the Rodent the bullet although if we diddnt I ould never see him stepping down! Talking of the Rodent anyone know what he is up to these days? Im guessing no club has been stupid enough to employ him again?
pete_norw 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Many Blues fans think he''s the ideal man for the job,
Lincs Canary 0 Posted July 15, 2010 I dont hold anything against Grant, except the signing of Cureton possibly, however he was league 1 top scorer the season before. But am I right in thinking he resigned? and didnt get sacked.I can see him going for the big time in becoming a successful manager eventually.
grantroederdisaster 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Peter Grant, nice bloke, who I will always respect for holding his hands up and admitting he wasn''t up to the job1 C rap manager, good coach!Prime example showing that a manager is different fom a coach!

Letting Safri go didn''t sit comfortably with me either, though i''ll admit losing Earnshaw and Etuhu we''re at most only partly his fault, but with the resources he got in return he must take every ounce of blame for failing to utilise them. And from what i can remember, Munby did say he was payed in being relieved of his role at the club, though rumours were that the fee was far more modest than the one for Worthington. As for him becoming a "successful manager"... Well for the sake of my own health, i should probaby ignore that comment.
grantroederdisaster 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Etuhu and Earnie were offered more money at clubs in the Premiership nothing to do with Grant! In the case of Etuhu we signed him for £300K, he was mainly poor and disinterested and we sold him for £1.5M - great business! Earnie would of stayed with us had we got promoted to the Premiership! Norfolk Mustard 94 Posted July 15, 2010 Key skills of being a coach include the ability to relate to, and communicate with the players. All I can remember at Norwich was a character pacing around the technical area occasionally throwing his notebook at the ground in sheer frustration! Then post-match he''d blame the players saying they weren''t bright enough to understand what he wanted them to do. Some of them were players he had recruited too. Bizarre or what?Total lack of personal responsibility on Grant''s part - it was HIS job to get the players to play! In any case, saying dismissive things about his players to the media said far more about Grant himself than the players he was trying to shift the blame to. Not a very intelligent way of doing things - and how he can be considered a coach at all in this modern decade is beyond me.His trail of disasters; Norwich, West Brom and Celtic - ALL went into demise once he''d become involved. Birmingham really have employed someone on the crest of a slump with this appointment.I think this Scots Old Boys club thing is a bit strange personally - has Big ''Eck been on the scotch and lost his judgement? If the main qualification to replace Roy Aitken is to possess a Scottish accent then why not bring in Rab C Nesbitt; he could do with a new club suit!
