blahblahblah 2 Posted June 29, 2010 Aah - thinking about it, knees, ankles, etc. Blokes moving quickly (less of a problem when England are playing), collisions etc.
norfolkchance1 0 Posted June 29, 2010 Yeah but the incline wouldn''t be that steep, there is an incline at the side of Old Trafford''s pitch which is steeper than any incline in a goal would be and players don''t get injured falling down there.

Yellow Wal 314 Posted June 29, 2010 The main problem would be that any ball that has hit the crossbar with any force at all and going downwards towards the goalline will be spinning greatly, that is the reason Lampards shot came out. If it was not spinning it would have bounced towards the back to the goal. Is a 10 degree incline great enough in all cases to stop it spinning back out? norfolkchance1 0 Posted June 29, 2010 Point taken but that would be something that could be tested by firing lots of balls at the underside of the bar and seeing what angle works best. Any incline will have some effect on the way that the ball bounces though and it would be more likely to bounce in the net than not.

morty 0 Posted June 29, 2010
I still like the cameras.
Or a sensor that measures when the ball has entirely crossed the line and sends a signal to the ref''s earpiece meaning the game isn''t delayed in the slightest.
