Well, I''ll certainly never mock you for your honesty, because at  heart, you''re a really top guy who knows a lot about the game, I only wish I did!

Thank you.

Unfortunately football is a greed sport.  Fans expect the best (they have a right, they pay their yearly/weekly ticket prices etc) footballers expect to be paid stupid wages per week which might take some of us quite a few years to earn the same amount, but it''s always the manager or chairman/women who get it in the neck the most.

At the end of the day Portsmouth/Hull have showed what over spending does with no contingency plan

Would you put 11 million into a club if you were rich, but not elite style rich? I know I wouldnt, as you won''t get it back.  But they are "expected" to hense the greed.

Whilst we are human we will make judgmental errors, simple as that really.

But to answer your question, yes you have someone better in charge than Ipswich do, a richer chairman doesn''t always mean a better one, unless all your care about is risking your clubs future in the long run

Norwich are not going to be the only team with premiership ambition, every club will have it, one will make a club, one will break a club however.

Also, off topic (sorry)  I''ve noticed different club supporters come on here, I''m one of them, I''m a Tottenham girly, but i''ve noticed one of two Ipswich/Colchester/Leeds fans come on here with no real mean to chat or discuss, but instead to just make stupid constant digs, howcome they are not banned?  You''d think in this day and age socialising and getting along is something we''d all grasp.

How dare you come on here and call yourself a spurs fans, yet show no arrogance? ..

I think Delia and MWJ (along with Doomcaster) were responsible for the plight we found ourselves in at the start of last season and think that had the current board been in place when we got promoted to the prem a few seasons ago things could have panned out very differently. I think that they took too many football related decisions which proved disastrous and were probably too heavily influenced by the over cautious Doomcaster.

However, I am grateful for the funds they have put in over the years, their heart has always generally been in the right place and now that they seem to have accepted that they need to take a step back and let McNally and Bowkett get on with running the club on a day to day basis I have no problem with the current set up.
I fully agree with your first paragraph, Jim, and I too think the majority shareholders installed themselves at Carrow Road solely for the love of NCFC and not to make money. That said I find I can''t yet close the book on their mis-management, especially in the later years leading up to McNally/ Lambert appointments. Some truly appalling decisions were made and acted upon and others, particularly the attempted farce in sending an SOS to bring back Nigel Worthington, were really beyond belief. If the short shrift we gave to our season in the Third Division is anything to go by then it does look as though we now have a pretty decent management structure in place. But there''s a long way to go to get back to where we once were. If we make a decent assault on the Championship in the next couple of years then perhaps I''ll be in a more forgiving mood. Until we can achieve some real progress I''m not ready to give Delia and MWJ a great big hug just yet I''m afraid.......

Smith must score wrote "But there is a long way to go before we are back were we once were" ...But the difference is,even then ,we never went out and got the amn we wanted,we hardly ever did business this early in the transfer market, usually waiting for everyone else to finsih buying who they want, then choosing! ,,,So as far as im concerned,we are further than we were in the past as a football club! ...And with this structure in the baordroom and our manager, again as far as im concerned,we would make a much better job of it in the prem, than we did then!

Calsworth.. When i stayed in notting hill, round friends,as a base for a couple of festivals and an illegal rave,we met a few spurs who didnt even seem to acknowledge the fact the championship existed! ...Though even my cousins/uncle etc who are eastend spammers ,never stop taking the ps outta norfolk,so its more of a London thing than one club.My dad was born and bred in london and moved here 30 odd years ago,and thinks norwich is the best place to live in the uk,so as you said not all are like that :)

You have summed up my feelings perfectly Smithy! Especially your thoughts in the third paragraph.

Let''s see what we make of this coming season, but will I be singing Delia''s barmy army? Not yet, if ever.

Fully agree with you Smithy especially the bits I have bolded and underlined. Will I ever forgive her I doubt it but like you if we have a good couple of seasons I may be more forgiving.

Wishful thinking.

The ''current board and owners'' constitute about one-fourteenth or so of Delia''s reign....and they''ve been tripping up for about 75% of that!

But, so far so good. At least they have got us back out of the Third Division................now I guess we''ll see what they''re really made of.

Do I detect a whiff of self-satisfaction in the air? Let''s hope I''m wrong - and that we''re prepared fo a dogfight.

Seriously... I think the only people with a grasp of reality on this thread are Smith Must Score and those who have agreed with his post.Still so easy to see why the vast majority allowed us to wither away to near administration despite being one of the best supported clubs outside of the top flight.
Well after having some ''one man protests" Lapp, some folk whinged at the good folk of NCISA, until they finally decided that the advice they had been getting for the previous couple of years had been spot on.The good folk of NCISA then arranged the St Andrews Hall bash, where I sat quite close to your good self Lapp, as you voted almost unanimously with 500 or so other attendees that you had "no confidence" in the board of directors of NCFC at that present time.
Didn''t NCISA act because they had the support of the vast majority Smudge? Methinks it had more to do with relegation and Gunns appointment rather than pressure from a few whingers!
