Why I'm starting to love and forgive Delia!

Recommended Posts

Reading about the  sticking to Marcus ''who is he'' Evans makes me realise our Delia might not be so bad after all. Okay, the Gunn apointment was awful, and his re-appointment was sheer insanity personified, but she did headhunt McNally.

Yes, she does speak before thinking, and funds have been wasted, but we can''t hold grudges for ever, at least I can''t.

Oh, the usual mob will crawl out now to do their usual pi*s take, let them, I care not.

So whilst some doubts still remain with me (and believe me, I''ve criticised her most severly over the years!) I know, in her heart she does care sincerley for City and its fans, and I''ll bet a lot of other clubs supporters would give anything for that!

My love for Delia has''nt fully developed yet, but its getting there...........slowly.[W]

Unfortunately football is a greed sport.  Fans expect the best (they have a right, they pay their yearly/weekly ticket prices etc) footballers expect to be paid stupid wages per week which might take some of us quite a few years to earn the same amount, but it''s always the manager or chairman/women who get it in the neck the most.At the end of the day Portsmouth/Hull have showed what over spending does with no contingency planWould you put 11 million into a club if you were rich, but not elite style rich? I know I wouldnt, as you won''t get it back.  But they are "expected" to hense the greed. Whilst we are human we will make judgmental errors, simple as that really. But to answer your question, yes you have someone better in charge than Ipswich do, a richer chairman doesn''t always mean a better one, unless all your care about is risking your clubs future in the long runNorwich are not going to be the only team with premiership ambition, every club will have it, one will make a club, one will break a club however. Also, off topic (sorry)  I''ve noticed different club supporters come on here, I''m one of them, I''m a Tottenham girly, but i''ve noticed one of two Ipswich/Colchester/Leeds fans come on here with no real mean to chat or discuss, but instead to just make stupid constant digs, howcome they are not banned?  You''d think in this day and age socialising and getting along is something we''d all grasp.

Norwich are not going to be the only team with premiership ambition, every club will have it, one will make a club, one will break a club however.
Stunning post Calsworth, but, banning on here is rare, and most on these boards are agin it, very broad shoulders are an asset here...............and welcome btw.

As im the sort of guy(sound like a lyric to a song...might write that down),who will change his opinion,of something or someone if warranted, and not just contiunue to moan and accuse etc if the situatiuon has changed..Now i was very much against the old delia and board..My main gripe was,the club seemed to be orbiting her.

And surrounding herself with yesman and people who seemed more at home in a courtroom or office, than in the world of football..

Then came that season!! ..And even though i knew she had pumped a lot of her own money in etc,to help our club, her inability to make hard footballing decisions was now killing our club..the appointment of gunn ffs,and allowing doncaster to still sprout negitivity etc..Though as someone else said he was her lapdog..

So what does she do? she takes the bull by the horns, out goes doncaster,in comes a football guy with big balls..and either she decides to let him run things without restraint or he tells her to bugger off into the kitchen and let him get on the the nitty gritty of the footballing world...Dumps her hero, gets the man he wants..and the rest his history! we now have a proper football club, players of quality coming here, early in june as well, when according to doncaster it isnt possible to do deals until everyone else has choosen then we can pick from the rest in late july!

So Delia and the new board thank you for making me proud and believing in the badge once more...

Well said Wiz, I agree entirely. I for one feel she and MWJ took a lot of blame, but in fairness their mistakes were made with the best of intentions. The reality I believe is that whilst they had just enough money to support the club, they didn''t have the right people installed to run it. Now they do.

And regarding your less than fully developed love for Delia; don''t worry, we all start off with a semi!

I have always believed that Delia wants nothing but the very best for Norwich City. She has made some crap decisions and some terrible mistakes. But none of that has ever meant she didnt have a heart in the right place.

I think the difference is that we have proper football people running the club now.

I think Delia and MWJ (along with Doomcaster) were responsible for the plight we found ourselves in at the start of last season and think that had the current board been in place when we got promoted to the prem a few seasons ago things could have panned out very differently. I think that they took too many football related decisions which proved disastrous and were probably too heavily influenced by the over cautious Doomcaster.

However, I am grateful for the funds they have put in over the years, their heart has always generally been in the right place and now that they seem to have accepted that they need to take a step back and let McNally and Bowkett get on with running the club on a day to day basis I have no problem with the current set up.

I''m much more comfortable with Delia knowing McNally is in making the footballing decisions. Delia has got a big role here; her business knowledge and brand is a valuable asset to NCFC. But I think she now knows that she lacks the sort of knowledge to make the best decision for the footballing side of the club.

I cpould not agree more.  Who has not made mistakes?   The true adult learns from mistakes and does things differently.

Also, the true adult changes opinion when the facts change.  Only a child or an idiot stick to opinions when the facts have invalidated those opinions.    There is nothing wrong with a u turn if the facts or circumstances have altered.
