We haven''t signed anyone since last week and it''s half way through Wednesday now!

Even the rumours have stopped, not a supermarket or hotel sighting for days. I keep pressing the refresh button hoping to see ''Press Conference at ---- Today'', but nothing.

Is the general opinion ''No News Is Good News'' or the opposite? Is the big one just around the corner?

I think the longer we hear nothing about Forster the better it looks tbh. I think this one is in the bag for the loan but maybe there is talk ongoing about a view to a permanent move.

Take Nicky Bailey. Supposedly we are after him. According to ONE poster

on ONE Charlton site we have already had two offers rejected.

Why hasn''t Bailey moved here or somewhere else yet? Because he''s a

player in demand, with a choice of several Championship clubs. Possibly

even some interest from a Premier League minnow. He (or his agent) would

be an idiot to plump for the first offer that came his way. There is no

rush - pre-season doesn''t start for weeks yet.

Yes, we''ve done some business, and that''s fine, but Bailey would be a

bigger signing (financially and in terms of kudos) than the other four

put together. That it hasn''t happened yet (for us or anyone else) is not just a coincidence.

How have we all been fooled - are they not really signing or are they not really players?

I think most people recognise that nobody signed so far is going to set the world on fire but at least the club appear to be being proactive and I for one agree with having the team together for preseason to mould them into an integrated group.

I think our signings all have the potential to be good myself and i''m relatively happy.
