Forever Norwich

Which football pundit do you hate the most?

Recommended Posts

I''m surprised at the hatred for Andy Townsend since he was on our team and played in the World Cup.

Is it just because he doesn''t acknowledge Norwich, or does he really suck?

Yes Jim Who the bloke who was on telly all the time he did the formula one, football, boxing, all the high profile stuff. Then he called Fatima Whitbread a "Spear Chucker" live on prime TV.forget his name, something like Rosenthal but it couldn''t possibly be the same Jim Rosenthal who was caught with his trousers down in a seedy porn flick in the 1990''s could it?Still maybe if he''d mentioned Norwich eh?

I dislike Andy Townsend, Steve Claridge and Jamie Redknapp on a personal level... But at the same time, there''s enough about them to fixate me to be interested in what they''re saying so i quite like them as pundits.

However, the one guy i really can''t stand is Stan Collymore, i dont dislike him as such, he just causes an instant reaction whereby i either flip the radio off or onto another station the minute i hear his voice... He''s just too quick and not at all radio friendly for my ears.

Oh.. Can we include Jeremy Kyle? He''s a prize tit.

May be taking this old skool, but it''s only been mentioned once.

BRAZIL, we all hate alan brazil, we all hate alan brazil. If I had to pick another it''s got to be brian Hamilton. Seem him for a couple of games. Failing that, alan hansen. The guy was a good player decades ago, and goes on about poor defending all the time. What does he really know about the game now? Enough to say that senderos is one of the best defenders in the prem, and bendtner is one of the best forwrds. W4 nker.

Worst one is Jamie Redknapp in my opinion. Really cant stand the guy and dont know why sky have him as a regular pundit for. Also have to say Lawrenson winds me up.Recently Gareth Southgate has grown on me and he is one of the only pundits who actually talks abit of sense in my opinion.

I would add another vote to the Lawro count for worst, although Garth Crooks is not far behind.Best for me, due to sheer perserverance in the face of obvious total stupidity and lack of talent has to be Chris Kamara - he is so bad he is brilliant because his obvious love of the game carries him through.

If not then id go with the Gray/Tyler combination for commentating, Ruud Gullit for punditry, and Paul Merson/Kamara for the sheer comedy value.Oh and im also surprised no ones mentioned Ian Wright, a real love him or hate him character when it comes to England matches.

Surprised Big Ron Atkinson hasn''t been mentioned. That said, I thought he was okay, apart from his obvious Faux pas!

Got to agree about Bryan Hamilton. If  he was that clever , how come he was one of the worst managers we ever had?. Actually, when you look at the names already mentioned, most of them have either been managerial failures or have never dared manage when offered the chance.

Lawrenson and Pleat. Total to$$pots!

On the other hand (not a "pundit" as such, but) Adrian Chiles is bloody awesome - knowledgeable, intelligent, funny and still comes across as a fan, first and foremost...

Alan Shearer for me.

Great England player and servant, and I have fond memories of seeing some of his goals in person, but conversely in front of the camera he''s like a vacuum of footballing ideas.

Lawro is immensely annoying but at least he has novel things to say, and he ends up being quite funny even if he doesn''t mean to, with statements so pathetic and misplaced they''re guaranteed to stimulate some reaction in the viewer. At least his punditry, in contrast to Mr Shearer''s, has some impact and isn''t simply a string of post-match-interview-style footballers'' cliches and simultaneously guaranteed to be either a repetition of what other guests have just been saying, or stating the such bleeding obvious you could have have got more analysis from the football headlines.

So utterly devoid of insight and interest, no wonder his managerial career was brief and uninspiring. Waste of money.

Mark Lawrenson is the only one who I take a dis-liking to and not only because of his lazy comments about us at the start of this season. Don''t really have a hatred for any other pundits, although some are clearly a lot better than others.

Andy Gray and most of Skysports
Sky''s coverage is pretty overrated.
I agree, Andy Gray does come out with a good one liner every so often but he seems to say the same thing over and over again.  Also Jamie Redknapp is such an arrogant sh!t!  He thinks he is talking in really technical detail making himself look like he knows the game really well but actually he is just repeating all the stuff Andy Gray says!

Also Andy Townsend is just very annoying and the rest of ITV are just sh!t!

Andy Townsend

David Pleat

John Barnes (when he did football on five)

Mark Lawrensen

Bryan Hamilton (on eurosport, absolute garbage!)

Steve Claridge

Jim Beglin

Garth Crooks

Phil Thompson

Alan Hansen

There''s ten there, but to be fair thinking about it, I don''t like too many pundits out there. Soccer Saturdays pundits (with the exception of Thompson) are generally okay but ITV''s coverage is generally shocking.

Not many of them talk much sense however Garth Crooks is clueless, Lawro is clinging on to his football heritage and Jamie Redknapp is the most bias prat on the TV!

The self opinionated arrogant tw4t that is Alan "I''m never wrong and anyone who says otherwise will recieve abuse and told to go way on air" Green. One of the few who''s phone in antic''s actually make it to the national press. He epitomises everthing I hate about football comentators. If you actually listen to him during a football game, he doesn''t even comentate just gives his opinion on what is happening. Christ I hate him so much...... deep breaths
