Minster Canary 0 Posted June 3, 2010 I really think we should be doing more to keep hold of talent like this, I''m not going to lie and say I''ve seen this guy and he looks like the next big thing, but if Arsenal want him then surely he is worth fighting for. Anyway I wish the boy well, not many better academies in the world.http://younggunsblog.co.uk/2010/06/player-profile-new-signing-philip-roberts/

Yellow Rose of Texas 0 Posted June 4, 2010 Maybe this is what Alan Bowkett meant when he said it was getting easier for Premier League clubs to steal our young talent?
The Chirp 0 Posted June 4, 2010 Sadly there is nothing that can be done in the current climate. If the boy wants to go elsewhere it''s up to him.If he''d stayed at City, he''d stand more chance of making it as a pro imo. Hundreds of players go to top clubs and fall out of the game... many you''d expect would find a club, but alas they don''t. NCFC have a very good record of bringing through their own... as do that lot down the road.
Mr_Chimp 0 Posted June 4, 2010 Just another face in the crowd. We''re utterly helpless to retain them at that age, he will have recieved a few offers and he happened to go with Arsenal. That said, he could well make it big and be another young star Wenger developed... ;)
