Team next season

Recommended Posts

For a decent go at the play-offs next season I think we need a team similar to this.

                        Forster

Wright?   Doherty   Whitbread   Drury/Spurr?

                       Russell

         Abdou?                   Bailey?

                     Hoolahan

        Ambrose?            Lita?

Subs: Rudd, Askou, Smith, Lappin, McNamee, C Martin, Holt

Don''t  think Holt will be very prolific next year ashe won''t be able to batter his way through defences as much and Martin is half the player without Holt so I think two quality Championship strikers are key. Don''t think Martin or Spillane will be up to it next year so Wright from Ipswich would be a good shout. Not sure how well Drury will cope so Spurr could be drafted in as backup. A creative midfielder like Bailey is crucial and another solid, strong Russell-like midfielder in the shape of Abdou wouldn''t hurt. I think Korey could be a very good player to bring off the bench to add a bit of energy later on in the game, same with McNamee.

Yes but cann you see a team like that challenging the play-offs? Also wouldn''t play a winger in a diamond formation although Beevers is a good shout.

Youve changed your tune ''big nose''

Now you''d start with Ambrose, Bailey and Abdou. Are we long longer buying Lallana??

There is no chance of us signing Ambrose or Bailey or Lalanna or probably not Abdou

I reviewed the team and didn''t think it would be strong enough. Also Bailey and Abdou might want to come here if their respective clubs don''t get promoted.

lita, ambrose, bailey - never going to happen! if you pay their wages then maybe but to pay around 40-50k a week for these 3 players ins not worth it!

My Team

GK: Forster

RB: Frazer Richardson/Bradley Orr

CB: Doc

CB: Askou

LB: Patrick van Aanholt

DM: Hugo Colace

RCM: Smith

LCM: Emil Hallfresson

AM: Hoolahan

FW: Holt/Bogdanovic

FW: Martin/Simeon Jackson

easily affordable team without too many changes. Notably the fullbacks are the major concerns, and I think all are very capable at championship level.

For Me the team would be

GK:Forster

CB:Doherty,Askou

RB:Spillane

LB:Drury

CM:Russell/Joey Gudjonsson*/Hughes

RM:Smith/Jermaine Johnson* LM:McNamee/Hallfreðsson*

AM:Hoolahan

FW:Holt/Elliott*,Morison*/Martin

Joey Gudjonsson: An accomplished midfielder at this level who has been promoted twice (I think). Is without a club.

Jermaine Johnson: A skillful right winger who has been relegated with Sheff Wed. PL the right man to get the best out of him.

Emil Hallfreðsson: A cracking left winger, playing with Barnsley on loan and has arguably been their best player.

Steven Elliot: Has been top scorer once at Championship level so there is some real ability somewhere in him, and PL is the right man to get that out of him.

Steve Morison: Has been superb for Millwall this season, and I think he could do a job or two at a higher level.

I dunno about Adomah, in my opinion he''s going to be on a free and his wages should e tiny so we should at least have a punt...
