magic_eyes 0 Posted November 28, 2004 Next time you get a chance to see the goal we conceded against Birmingham and those 4 against Charlton, don''t watch the ball watch Flemings position. He is getting caught ball watching far too often.I''m not saying drop him (but I would love to see Shacks given a chance) but this is surely something Worthy needs to sort out and fast, the goals we concede are soft and we need to cut it out.OTBC
shropshire canary 0 Posted November 28, 2004 Charlton guilty of it as well for yesterdays goal - Morrison was his man at that point in time.
ZLF 334 Posted November 28, 2004 Magic eyes you are wrong in only one point - we SHOULD be calling for him (and eddy) to be dropped. Its has not just been the charlton game but Fleming has been consistently turned, given too much space, ball watched and been caught out of position to the teams cost.As shrops points out only drury can come out of the bham goal without any blame - it was a soft goal to conceed with flem ball watching, no central defender challenging our opponents main threat, eddy not challenging at the far post AGAIN and charlie stood still as the ball bounces to an alert morrison. It is sloppy defending like this that will get us relegated - not the lack of goals scored. The sooner Worthy recognises this and plays real defenders than long distances runners/huff and puff merchants the quicker we will move up the table.OTBC
LinkNR9 0 Posted November 28, 2004 Correct. Look at other goals this season - Alan Smith for United is a typical example. Shackell with Charlton would be a good pairing.
